Yes. I think we're very close. Though I don't believe in date-setting, we can recognize the signs of the times.

Matthew 16:3 -- And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

The world will END at the end of the 1,000 year period mentioned in Revelation 20:3 (aka: "Millennial Reign of Christ").

2 Peter 3:9 -- The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But THE DAY OF THE LORD will come as a thief in the night; in the which THE HEAVENS SHALL PASS AWAY WITH A GREAT NOISE, AND THE ELEMENTS SHALL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT, THE EARTH ALSO AND THE WORKS THAT ARE THEREIN SHALL BE BURNED UP. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the DAY OF GOD, wherein THE HEAVENS BEING ON FIRE SHALL BE DISSOLVED, AND THE ELEMENTS SHALL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;

Revelation 21:1 -- And I saw a NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH: for the FIRST HEAVEN AND THE FIRST EARTH were passed away; and there was no more sea.

The short answer is, over 1007 years from now.

Long Answer:

Important: Going backwards from the End.

The Post Millennium
There will be a time when Satan is released from a place where he was bound for a thousand years. When he comes out, he will convince a certain people to rise up and come against Jesus who is at Jerusalem. No one except God knows how long that will take, and when it will occur.

The Millennium
Which means: 1000 years of Christ ruling on Earth. He comes down and sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives in Israel after He brings the enemies of Israel together to make war against them. He destroys those enemies and sets up the 1000-year earthly Kingdom. Not all Christians believe this, but I do and those who believe like me.

The Great Tribulation
This is a seven-year period when God pours His wrath out on the Earth. It occurs after those that are in the body of Christ (the church), are taken out of the way. Often referred to as the Rapture of the Church, the Jews will have the temple built in Jerusalem, and on the World's stage a man supposedly of Peace will actually make peace in the Middle East for seven years, three and one half years into the deal he will break that promise, and make war. So seven years, the last three and one half years there will be many things happening that will make it seem that the Earth is being destroyed.

The Present Day
We are on the far side of all that I have written. Israel is a nation once again as was prophesied. The church is awaiting the Rapture. The Rapture, as with all the fulfilled "Set Times" or "Feasts" that are observed by the Jews were set by God to show His manipulation of history, in advance.

For instance: Jesus was lain in the tomb as a fulfillment of Passover. The Spirit of God was poured out on men speaking the tongues of all nations on Pentecost. The Rapture of the Church will take place on the Feast of the Trumpets. It might not be this year, but on any year, it will not occur unless it's on the Feast of the Trumpets. This year, the Feast of the Trumpets happens on 13 September, this month. If it does not happen then, it will not happen until one of the later years on the Feast of the Trumpets.

So we have the Rapture, whenever that is to take place, the Great Tribulation of seven years, the millennium for a thousand years, and the time that it takes Satan to convince a people to come again Jesus in Jerusalem, however long that is before the end of the world.

How could anyone who has even glanced at Revelations not think that we are living in the end times? If you think that Americans will be immune to the suffering that believers all over the world have been experiencing, go to Utube.com and type in the words, "FEMA concentration camps". If that little featurette doesn't make a believer out of you that we are in the end times, I don't know what it will take.

ARMAGEDDON
A Catastrophic End?

ARMAGEDDON! Does this word conjure up images of mass destruction or a cosmic conflagration? Few Bible expressions have become as much a part of everyday speech as “Armageddon” has. The term has been widely used to describe the gloomy prospects facing humans. The entertainment industry has fed people’s imagination with horrific scenes of a coming “Armageddon.” The word is shrouded in mystery and misconceptions. While ideas as to its meaning abound, most of them are not in line with what the Bible—the source of the expression—teaches about Armageddon.

Since the Bible links Armageddon with “the end of the world,” would you not agree that it is vital to have a clear understanding of what the word really signifies? (Matthew 24:3, King James Version) And would it not be reasonable to turn to the ultimate source of truth, God’s Word, to find answers about the nature of Armageddon and what it will mean for you and your family?

Such an examination will show that instead of bringing a cataclysmic end, Armageddon will introduce a happy beginning for people who desire to live and thrive in a righteous new world. You will be rewarded with a clear understanding of this vital Scriptural truth as you consider the discussion of Armageddon’s real meaning in the next article.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ARMAGEDDON IS?

A nuclear holocaust

An environmental disaster

A collision of a celestial body with the earth

Divine destruction of the wicked

yea, i do. But people thought so thousands of years ago also.
we are obviously closer now than ever, but no one can know for sure.

Near the end of His earthly ministry, Jesus stood on the Mount of Olives and talked to His disciples about the future. As He came to the end of this "Olivet Discourse," Jesus said:
Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. For this reason you be ready too; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. (Matthew 24:42-44)

"It is relevant to know that it is possible to construct a timeline for the Tribulation. When that is done, we discover that three very bad things happen in the spring of 2029, specifically on Friday the 13th of April. In the aftermath of the Magog, all-Islamic war against Israel, those outside the Middle East who have them, will unleash their nuclear weapons upon each other. One-third of those alive at the time will be killed and one-third of the earth will be scorched in thermonuclear blasts. While that's bad, at the same time an enormous asteroid named Aspinthos will be nudged from its path and it will strike the earth. Then, adding to the torment, the side of a mountain will slide into the sea causing a massive tsunami. The financial strength of the world's merchants will be obliterated in an hour."

I don't know for sure if I buy it personally, but this bit is from a very interesting and thorough website that is supported throughout by biblical verses. Check it out if you want, but beware...it is very long, deep, detailed, and scary as hell.
