I was raised as a Christian. It was in the process of trying to learn more about my faith that I became less and less convinced that it was true. My questions would go poorly answered or left unaddressed, and my bible studies, rather than strengthening my faith, only illuminated the many flaws and fallacies of that piece of literature.

No. My dad was atheist and my mother was a non-churchgoing 'church of england'
I was not discouraged from exploring religion and I was with a spiritualist church for a few years, but that tended to be a bit too churchy for me. I had an "on and off" interest in buddhism and wicca, but more often than not I would describe myself as an atheist.

No. I was taught different religions when old enough and given the option to make up my own mind after sampling different religions, but I wasn't raised on any perticular one.

Of course we all were...as we know more about academics and busy with the worlds problems, we know less about religion, so, less knowledge breeds rejection of moral teachings and so we end up discarding religion altogether.
Atheist is more appropriately defined by these terms. Athesist have not delved into a religion of choice and learnt enough to accept it.

A tiny-bit of Buddhist/ Christian/ Agnostic belief.
I realized that religion doesn't make much sense.
We know right from wrong, the differences of moral and immoral, and we don't need any book written thousands of years ago to tell us what to do.
Be your own person and make the right decisions, not one based on some out-dated book.

My mother is a a traditional Chinese religion practicer and I enrolled to Protestant school when I was young for six years, the next six years I enrolled to the best Catholic school in town.
I used to be in choir, I used to pray every night, but now I realized that God couldn't exist.
Truth is a journey for everyone.

Raised by my Grandparents...who happen to be Anabaptist. Mennonite to be more exact. There's a group that take the bible way too literally!

The rest of my family ( Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc ) are practicing/nonpracticing religious Jews.
However now I am a agnostic, atheist, Buddhist.
