My co-workers want to eat out together several times a week. I've eaten with them a few times, but its getting more frequent and a little annoying. Sometimes I want to run errands or just be alone and take a mental break.
Not sure how to say no without seeming rude??

Seriously, just tell them your trying to watch what you eat or you don't want to go out so often with them. It's okay!

I'd thank them for the invitation then tell them, "I'd love to, but I have some things I need to take care of." If you tell them you need a mental break or just want to be alone, they would translate that as "not being a team player" or something silly like that. By leaving it more vague "things you need to take care of" or something along those lines, it lets everyone off the hook. You get the time you need for whatever and they know that you're still part of "the team".

Tell them that.
Say 'well, i have a lot of errands to run right now/i really just want to be alone for a little bit i'm exhausted from doing all of this' and then reschedule it. 'maybe next week though? I'll see you in a bit.'

Tell them you have errands to run, but you will join them some other time. I don't think it's rude at all to need some time to yourself!

These are co-workers, not family. All you have to say is, "Sorry, I can't make it today, I've got some errands to run. Have fun!"
