Xanthmum Gum (one of the more popular main ingredients in chewing gum) is body neutral. You body doesn't react to it in any way, typically. There are certain conditions that would be of concern, but these generally effect older persons whose small intestine has lost its elacticity. As long as you son is below the age of 45 this isn't a concern. The only possible side effect might be that a sugar rush will ensue. Bubble Gum is full of sugar. If your son is a diebetic then that may cause a problem. Generally speaking though, your son should suffer no ill effects from up to 2 ounces of ingested chewing gum.

Nope, it should pass through fine. As long as he didn't choke to death one it, which I'm sure he didn't! I hear it stays in your stomach for 7 years...but it may be a myth.

It would depend how old. If very young, it could be be bad. if 8 or older, he should be fine. if it was chewed or not depends. it also depends whether the wrapper was still on it. he should be fine though if he is not super young.
