I'm a single Christian male and live on my own. I'm active in my church, and try to live a godly life.

It is wrong to masturbate? I don't own any playboys, or have any memberships to pornographic web memberships. However, that doesn't prevent the sex drive from kicking in from time to time.

Of course I have masturbated in the past, but I feel guilty. Of course I am too embarrassed to go talk to my pastor about such a topic, so that's why I am here behind the cloak of anonymity. Is this wrong? If so why?

It's not wrong. It's natural. You will ejaculate no matter what you do. No amount of praying in the world will prevent your hormones.
Also regular masturbation helps prevent prostate cancer and other prostate problems.

hey there, in the beginning masturbation would not have something to do with how lots money or textile assets you have. all of us has desires, enormously sexual desires and while you're actually not having intercourse then masturbation is the subsequent maximum suitable difficulty. i've got heard some human beings sense guilt from doing it even although that's all very organic and you somewhat shouldn't sense in charge approximately it. each and every person masturbates, definite even actors and your buddies :p. in line with risk those acquaintances merely want to pose and act as though they're too proud to confess it. they want to look "extreme classification" and straightforward. desire I helped!

as a good christian, you would have read the 10 commandments and the teachings of jesus and knwo that nnowhere in them is there any reference to masturbation. Sure there is a bible passage or two that are misread to mean masturbation is bad but that is the law of man being interpreted in a misleading fashion to give it an untrue meaning.

So, bottom line is until god or jesus come right out and add masturbation to the list of sins. there's nothing wrong with it despite what some so-called christians say in their misguided attempt to control all of yoru life not just yoru spiritual side.

ksh no,
1. If God did not want us to masturbate our arms would be shorter.
2. If God did not want us to masturbate there would be disadvantages to it. If you do research masturbation can actually have viable health benefits such as :
stress reduction
eases PMS symptoms and also helps reduce cramping (for us ladies)
helps one fall asleep
stimulates/enhances the immune system
releases endorphins
3. Your guilt is from being conditioned in some way to think that masturbation is wrong.
4. Pretty sure Jesus masturbated at least once in his lifetime.

There is no right and wrong besides what you label as a right and wrong but masturbating is a lower desire if your on a spiritual path you have to be able to master your desires this is the first initiation.

Yes, it's wrong to masturbate. It doesn't matter where you get the ideas. Actually, the worst are probably thought of in your own head. And, as for feeling guily, no offense, but you should. It is wrong because of the same reasons pre-marital sex is wrong. Using something that God gave us for the purpose of creating more human life is NOT supposed to be twisted around for some kind of sick enjoyment factory. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel about things. God feels that way, too. I mean, the Bible says the commandments "are written in each of our own hearts" and that guilt you are feeling is a reaction to doing something that you know, in your heart, is NOT what God wants of you. It's just like any other addiction: You have to overcome it in one way or another. I'll pray for you with St. Augustine. So, good luck and God bless.

It is wrong because in doing so, you defile your own body. The Holy Ghost cannot dwell within an unholy temple. I hate to draw this comparison - but would Jesus masturbate?

I think we should castrate people who ask questions on masturbation, which has been answered hundreds of times!

G-d gave you a sex drive. It's just foolish to think that you should suppress it, or even that you *can.* If you don't engage in intercourse, and you don't masturbate, you'll ejaculate in your sleep.
