Ok here is my story.

I used to think I almost never stutter until just a few hours ago when I made a video to post up in YouTube. But After first viewing the video in WMP I noticed I stuttered in almost every word. I only stutter at the very beginning of words. I am actually very frustrated so I started to speak slower but I do not want to sound like a sleepy robot. So is thier a way to help treat my stuttering?

Help is very much appreciated!

Thank You and Happy Holidays!

My uncles and cousins who stuttered used the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" by The Stuttering Foundation of America and available in their estore or at Amazon.com. After working through the book, their speech improved greatly. One uncle went to a speech therapist who specialized in treating stuttering and found that she used that book in her sessions. You can meet other stutterers at http://groups.myspace.com/stutteringfoundation.

You could try 4 different talking speeds: 85%, 90%, 95%, and 100% Consider your current rate of speech as being 105%, a rate at which you stutter frequently. Go back to 85%, then slowly increase, in stages, until you begin to stutter noticeably: then go back to 85%, and work your way up to the rate before you began stuttering. Keep at that rate, for a good while, maybe later, risking stepping it up one more notch; confident that you can always work your way back up from 85% again. Think of it in terms of modem speeds on your computer: if that speed is set too high for the connection to the ISP, there will be problems. I had to reduce modem speed to 80%. SPEECH DISORDERS: GENERAL ADVICE FOR ALL DISORDERS: Use the WebFerret search engine, your own, and the Wikipedia, and Google websites. GROUPS, at Myspace, Yahoo, and/or Google may be of assistance, and also contact the state, and national bodies for more information. Try to think about what you are going to say before you start speaking. My brother stutters really badly, but it's because his mouth can't keep up with his thoughts.

Singing, aparently.

Also, I have heard that you can get a device to put in your ear to help. You may need to see a doctor for that.
