Well I think that you should tell him during Christmas so that you can get it over with and by the time New Year's comes around you might have already found someone new. That's just me.

Hang in there until after the holidays unless, you already have someone in mind it would be good to appear single for right away.
New Year's isn't a great time to meet someone unless you are just looking for a drinking buddy.
Do it before Xmas and you risk losing a gift.

i would wait for your christmas present lol, but no that's mean to break up with someone 2 days before christmas wait til around the 28th then u can get drunk on new years!lol merry christmas!!

I do think that there is a conflict in belief on this subject. I think that the way to do it is to wait until after XMAS if you have any sense of care for this guy, and if you hate his guts and you couldn't care less that you get to open the present you wrapped for him, and he gets the one he got for you... dump him!

i am bad for getting things over with immediately. If I see a conflict, I will make it happen right away. That is not always nice, but that is what works for me and my axiety levels

just tell him how you think. if he doesn't want a relationship he should be ok about it. just dont be all sudden about it. talk it out, and if breaking up is the way to go then i guess that's how it has to be.
