I've been called that by women older than me and I know that it doesn't mean anything, but this one is the same age.

I'm from an area in the country that calling someone Hun is so common we have bumper stickers that say " have a good day, Hun ! It's a Baltimore thing. It more than likely means nothing. I call everyone Hun. Old, young or same age. It's like Sweetie. A man is Hun or Sir. Not a biggie. Merry Christmas Hun.

They most likely call a lot of people Hun. It most likely means nothing more than a general greeting. The lady at the gas station calls me Hun every time I come in. She also calls everyone else in line Hun. Most likely isn't personal.

It seems that more and more people are using the name "hum" and I have even heard "Darling" and "Sweetie" used more. It is not just older people but the younger ones use these terms. I would wait and see if she uses this term with others. I would assume this is a habit and probably means nothing.

Depends on where you are (or where they are from). I know plenty of ladies who call me "hun" all the time here in Memphis, TN. It seems to be a "southern" thing to do.
