How do ppl think it's right or ok to go out to a bar or club or party or just sit at home on a saturday night and get drunk or maybe not even get drunk just drink and then go to church on a sunday morning and think that everything is fine...i just cant bring my self to the idea that drinking and being a Christian just don't mix. Isnt that sort of hipocritical?
i kno that drinking is not a sin...but it does say in the bible that any addiction is a sin.. and i believe ppl that have more then 2 or 3 beers a day everyday or every weekend are addicted... i have told ppl before that i dont think it's right, but of course theyre gonna argue with me and tell me it's not a sin.

Yes addiction is a sin, not a disease. Jesus can deliever anyone from alchol abuse. Addiction is being in bondage and if someone is addicted they need some help.As for myself I do not drink at all, after seeing alcholics and what happens to their lifes and how they hurt people I would not even drink any.

There are two types of issues that relate to drinking. First let me say that some people drink occasionally without the "need" to drink. They just say, "Hey, I think I'm going to have a drink today." Now the twoo issues, one is called just a "Drinking Problem" (still addiction, just a lesser version), then you have an "Alcholic". A drinking problem is when you might drink a few times a week or every weekend, and all week you are looking forward to the weekend so you can drink. If there is any a time that you are waiting to drink, or you feel like you need a drink, then it is an addiction. For example, my mother has drank the same drink every single night since my ealiest memorys, she has a drinking problem, some may say alcholic, but concidering she's my mother, it might be a little hard for me to tell her that. But I have told her she has a problem, but that doesn't stop her. Now I don't think I need to explain the alcholic version, that is pretty much obvious. Anyway, it's not a sin to drink, but it is to get "drunk". It is also a sin to have the addiction.

It is a sin to Judge also. I think i'd rather see my christian friends who sin, at church rather than the ones who are PERFECT ALREADY! Who is it for if not the sinners? Who are you to say when a sinner is welcome in the church. The last i knew, that is what our duty as a christian was, to get the sinners, like us(we sin too), in church. how would you like being told, "i dont think you have the right at church this sunday because you spent all week on Y/A's, toungue lashing you brothers and sisters in Christ"? Which is a sin also...you should be ashamed of your self. Have you ever heard you should pull the beam from your own eye before trying to remove it from someone elses.

And by the way, i do not drink, ever. but i am a sinner, and dont want anybody telling me i cant come to church because i sin. and u talk about hypocrits...sheesh...

Because they like so many others are being taught by hirelings who are thier to tickle the ears rather then Telling them the TRUTH
which is GODS WORD

its SIN

and SIN = Death

NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS

GODS WORD SAYS IT IS
AND THAT ALL THAT MATTERS

" HE who knows to do right and does it not to him t is SIN"
" Dont be a partaker of another mans sin "
" one is tempted and is drawn away by thier own lusts and enticed "
ALL LUSTS is SIN
whether it be Drink , food , cars , money , sex , whatever etc etc

SIN is SIN
and those who condone it is just as guilty as those who are doing it . Including the ones of the building called church

It says to admonish them as a brother and TELL them and Rebuke them openly that all may fear and see
that the one doing it be ashamed that they may repent
and if they do not
we are to mark that one and have no part with them !!!

THATS BIBLE

Not watered down , feel good , its ALL ok LIE !!!!!!!

PERIOD!!!!!!!!

It also says in the bible that judging others is a sin... Seems to me you have a very severe case of pot calling kettle black syndrome...

Why not spend your time worrying about yourself and let others do the same with their time...

if you dont want to drink then don't. as for saying that addiction is a sin, many of my family members have struggled with different chemical dependencies and it is not a sin, it is a disease, just ask the homeless wino if he would not quit if it did not make him so sick to even try. i think that this is an incredibly judgemantal statement made by a child who should strive to have more empathy for others. or at least do a little research.

It wouldn't be right for me, but for another person it may just be how they grew up. I know this seems corny but, it's not for me to judge them on this. I stay out of it. If I see that it is destroying them and I know them enough or if I am moved by the Holy Spirit I would say something to them, but otherwise I preach Christ and live my convictions.

I would say if a person is addicted, then yes, they have a problem they need to fix.

If they just drink one or two occasionally, I see nothing wrong with it.

Religion isn't like a cloak you can put on on Sunday, and leave off the rest of the week. True religion isn't about what you do when everyone's watching, it's what you do when you think no one is.
