Is it worth it? There are a ton of risks that are listed, but the benefit is great too. Help?

I know the list of risks seem scary, but the odds of anything like that happening are slim to none. I work for a Lasik company and have very rarely seen any complications. If you are that worried you can always have an evaluation done by the doctor first and they can explain all those risks and odds in more detail to you! I hope this helps.

I'll be honest with you, it is worth every risk and every penny. I hated being blind when I lay down and when I wake up. You can't sleep with contacts in, and sometimes you get comfortable and then remember you have to take them out, then you can't get to sleep for an hour cause you just got up and messed with your eye balls. I had the procedure done last week and when I woke up from my nap the day of the surgery and I could see everything perfect, it was worth it. As far as the risks go, it is scary and I almost backed out at the last second, but held strong. Realistically there is a better chance of being in a plane crash at this point. The procedure is very safe, but they are required to tell you of any risks their could be. I went from being terribly blind to having 20/15 vision.

I think it is worth it if you're a young person who might have a stable prescription for a decade or more. However, very few people have the exact same prescription all of their lives so at sometime in the future, you will either need glasses again or go back for a followup procedure. According to people I've talked to who had it done, they say you will never be able to wear contact lenses again.

Not worth it. Victims of a bad surgery are often depressed and suicidal. On a brighter note, its the digital age! Just wait for a better technology. Our scientists are probably working on it right. now.

I got it about ten years ago and I don't regret it. Sure there are risks but if you stick to doctors of reputation, you would do better with them. Try not to go with doctors who advertise too much. They tend to not have enough experience.
