It depends on what Model variation you are talking about. There were (7) different versions.

The one I think you are referring to is the 1899 in 250-3000 Savage caliber Lever Action Rifle. Take Down Frame Model,Pistol Grip Stock..Best known for it's UNIQUE - Corrugated Steel Pattern Butt Plate and Cross Checkered Pattern Trigger Face. Manufactured from 1914-1921

In Good to Excellent condition it's valued at $850-$1275

The "99" was originally designed as a Deer Rifle, and was quite popular at the time it was introduced........

250 savage? .25 caliber, 87 grain bullet advertised at 3000 fps gave trade name 250-3000 to cartridge- excellent varmint, coyote, raccoon load. With 100 grain bullet known as good deer gun. 120 grain bullet load used on big deer, small bear, hogs. 1899 lever action uses a large dropping block action, collector value $500.00 -->$2000.00+. Worn hunters at bottom of price range, near new finish and fancy woods to upper range. Reputation for greater accuracy compared to Winchester 94 in 25-35 or 30-30. Pointed bullets can be used in this lever gun.
