Bad days come and bad days go. I would go so far as to say, bad months come and bad months go. But I believe that within the stories of the Scriptures we find our stories and people over and over and over again had bad days, months, sometimes longer.
But God is faithful, Jesus is risen, and love wins. Be strong.

God knows your heart and what is in it. If you are feeling guilty about not being a good Christian.. that tells me you are a good one. Everyone has their own level they are at. Everyone can be Christian in many ways and help out others in many ways. God may have given you a gift of prayer or a gift of talking with others. Maybe you don't know what your gift is yet. Sometimes I think I could do more and I know I can. I talk to God about this and try the next day. even a smile at a stranger helps me out. Be paitent and pray to God about the questions you have... He will guide you

We all fall short of His glory so pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue to just do the best you can. I don't always do what i should do but i will never change in my beliefs. Jesus is the way and that's it, end of story. I would like to get some recruits before i die though. It seems i am surrounded by none believers and this should be my goal but i am not doing it.....and i know i should but they are hard to talk to.....but i keep on trying. That's all you can do each day. Just the best you can.

First of all everybody fails at some point. Anybody who says he has never sinned is making God a liar. For the times when we do fail God gave us the promise of 1 John1:9 "If we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness"
Do not worry about your works or lack of works keeping you out of heaven. We cannot do anything to deserve heaven. Our good works will never merit heaven for us. And like wise our lack of them cannot take heaven away from us. It is not our works but Christ's work on the cross that makes heaven possible for us. Pick up your Bible ask God to encourage you and comfort you, also ask Him to reveal to you anything that you may have to deal with in the area of your failure. Then trust in Him and look to His Word and Holy Spirit for your answer, along with comfort and a joy unspeakable and full of glory.

I'm a practicing practical Christian. All sorts of thoughts pass through my mind. I get to practice how long I hang onto or sit with any of them.
Sure I have down days, but I've practiced enough that I refuse to let myself believe anything so negative as TOTAL failure.
If I am into beating myself up mentally then that type of thinking begins to come on more strongly. So I have pick me up songs and phrases and people I can call who help me get my thinking straightened out. You are smart to stop the downward spiral thinking by reaching out for support.
When Scripture speaks of 'I know you not' it's about those who KNOWINGLY act like they are and speak the words but deep in their hearts they have a far different intention. That's not what you are talking about.
The others have covered the rest of it.
Keep walking and loving and know that this is all part of the practice of Christ based life. Walking in love doesn't just mean for others, it means we forgive ourselves as well when we fall short of the mark. We keep on practicing. You are doing it right now by sharing this Q with us so we can all lift up one another as we are to do.
And, think about this, your experience will help you better help someone else when they go through the same thing.
I once heard 'when going through hell - don't stop - keep going till you are out'. Just keep yourself in motion. Do some service work. You may not feel better in your thinking, but I bet you that you will soon not be feeling so totally a failure.
EDIT: For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of sound mind. 2Tim1:7
Blessings on you. Holding you in prayer. :)

Jeanmarie.
You are one of the sweetest Christians that I have ever met.
Jesus is thrilled with you.
You are one of the few Christians that I have met who actually practices what Jesus ask of us.
You seldom if ever make judgmental comments and you were always loving and respectful in any communication I ever had with you.
You have straight A's in the judge not and love your neighbor categories.
You are too hard on your self. You know the judge not applies to yourself too Don't you?
Love and blessings Don

Yes, I do. I believe the reason why we start feeling like that is because God is putting it on our hearts because he knows we're slipping. It's a spiritual warfare, always remember that, but victory comes by the power in the name of Jesus.

All the time.
But that is nothing more than satan trying to tell me I'm not worth Christ's sacrifice for me, and if I believe that I'll walk away from Jesus, and live my life as though I were still lost.

I do all the time. This is what is ment by being poor in spirit or hungering for rightousnes. when this hapens it is time to pray and ask the question of how can we better represent Christ? when people have no such thoughts it can be spiritualy damaging as they may not be seeking spiritual growth.

Read some of the saints. They especially felt that way sometimes. It is only because you are aware of your potential in God's eyes that you are able to feel that way.
Peace.
