When I met my husband he lived in South Florida and I lived in West Central Florida. It's about a 4 hour drive or a 30 minute flight. But it worked because he travels alot for business and he had alot of frequent flyer miles. My stepbrother also had a girlfriend in South Florida at the time so we used to drive there together for the weekend.

I tried, it lasted 3 months...
Very few people have successful long distance relationships. The thing is, you just yearn for him/her so much, and it just leaves you empty inside knowing you can't be with him in person, y'know what I mean? If you know you're not a patient person... I don't recommend a long distance relationship, because only being able to see the one you love once in a while rather than just about every day will be tough. Some people just need that person in a closer distance =)
Good luck!!

Yes. I strongly suggest not doing so.
It worked okay for awhile, but I found myself always missing him. We would only see each other once of twice a month.
If you are planning on having a long distance relationship, then I strongly suggest you make sure that you trust this person. When your in a long distant relationship, cheating would be a very easy thing to do.

yeah and i dont recommend doing one unless you two are good friends first, and not get bitter towards one another if a break up happens, and it would be great if one moved to where the other lived eventually. I didnt work out because i never saw him, and trust issues, how could i trust someone to be faithful if hes not within reach.

She was teaching in Boston, MA and I was in UK. For a year.
Hated it, saw each other for about a week every three or four months.
Getting married in the New Year.
Depends on how much you love AND trust each other. Gotta have both, or it ain't gonna work.
Good luck!

im at uni, and my BF lives 2hours away.
its not so bad bcoz it means we both get down time with our friends, it makes us appreciate each other a whole lot more when we dont get to see each other as often as we'd like.
its working out resonably well as we make the effort to see each other every 2 weeks or so for a solid weekend or longer at a time.
its not the best situation, but its better than having to give him up, or sacrificing my education.

dated a guy for several months and tried to make it work long distance and it didnt. it cant be a one way thing, both people have to be willing to do anything they can to make the distance shrink (even if its a lot, like mine was). if both are committed and trustworthy it can work.

yes i am in one rite now
it went well for a while, but its very hard
you have to be very comitted, and trusting
ive been in longdistance relationships before,
where you have no idea what ppl are doing when u arent around. i got screwed over in that one.
but it all depends on how you feel about each other, and how bad you want to make it work
