Eds, given that that is the view of MANY scholars, your answer does not seem very cogent.

Four different traditions. Way more than four authors. There are differences in vocabulary, writing style, content, etc. Contradictory passages are a big one, such as the Noah story there are two different things said about what animals to take. One part says to take two of every animal. The other says to take two of every unclean animal and seven of every clean animal. The two creation stories are another example. The first one is ordered and has a lot to do with the law. The second is full of puns (Adam means dirt in Hebrew) and is more a piece of folklore. No secular scholar believes the Mosaic tradition.

Everyone wants to publish something that will be quoted. This is why. The next thing they will probably come up with is that it had 5 or 6 authors. Some people are even willing to sell their souls for a PhD in "divinity."

skeptic,
They refuse to read and study the materials that are out there. Moses wrote the Pentateuch and led the Israelites out of Egypt. Have a great Christmas.
Thanks,
