i just saw i am legend and so i googled "humans w/ rabies", and it showed people chaned up. why is that? i know they're probably nothing like those creatures in the movies, but why would they be chaned?

Rabies infection in humans begins with symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat followed in several days by more serious and rapidly progressing symptoms such as restlessness, hallucinations, and seizures. The final stage is coma and death.
In less modern times, the only way to prevent the rabies infected person from hurting/infecting other people was to chain them up, until they died.

I've never heard of this happening. I can imagine ANIMALS with rabies would be chained up, or killed, so they won't bite people, attack people, or spread rabies... But I'm not sure about HUMANS. I guess it's because they tend to go crazy -- just LIKE animals.
By the way, you have a tendency to spell "chained" incorrectly.

That was from WAY back in history. People were chained because Rabies makes you lose your mind. It attacks your brain and nervous system, so people were a danger to others if they'd been infected. People don't get rabies from other people biting them, but an insane person can be dangerous.

it comes from the idea that people with rabies become mad. They go through a phase in which they become very violent and angry because rabies affects the central nervous system

Rabies affects the brain...many years ago, persons who had rabies would literally go crazy...attacking people etc...so they were chained up until they would die.

People who have been infected with the
virus that causes rabies are NOT chained up.
Hollywood tells fun stories, but does not care
about telling the truth.

People with rabies (and some animals) react violently to anyone around; including biting, etc... so....

Well, don't think that those pictures are real, but if they are it is because rabies makes you crazy and you will attack everything/everyone.
