Since we're not allowed to chat here, is there an R&S - type chatroom that you frequent. I'm looking for more opportunity for open discussion, and the possibility of getting to know someone through actual conversation. Just wondering if any of you all had experience with this, or ideas? Please, no single-religion sites: I want to talk to people of different faiths and belief systems, as I do here.

Jason, I was asking for specific referrals from the people I know and sometimes trust on this site. Not smart-aleky replies that attempt to insult my intelligence.

I have had zero luck with this. Most of the forums I have found have 'most recent posts' dating from 2005 or before. I did find an active site (www.cosmeta.com) which is well moderated, but really doesn't have a lot of activity. If I could find a better forum I wouldn't be stuck on Y!A sifting through pages of teenage bickering. Unfortunately this is the best game in town (at least that I have been able to find). Pretty sad huh?
With Love,
Shane K.

Seems no matter where you go there are chidren playing or chat room police. I also wish there was a serious chat room for people that want to discuss religion rationally. I do know that so many use discussion of religion to attempt to convert. As a Pagan, I just would like to answer questions about my religion from those that seek to understand. I wish no harm and want to be friends with all followers of all religions.

I think that is an interesting idea! Sometimes by discussing our differences and LISTENING to the other persons point of view without criticizing much can be learned by all sides. There are two things that really get people's interest in life and that is religion and politics. I think that in both cases by really LISTENING to the other point of view(you don't have to agree with it )much can be learned that may help us be more accepting of one another.

I don't know of one that is an open religion forum chat room, the one I go to now and then is a Christian based.
I've tried the yahoo religion chat rooms, it's just ridiculous.
I wish mIRC had one somewhere I could trust, it'd be great to get to know some of you.

There are other chat rooms but noone seems to be on them. I have gone there and found noone
I got into 2 supposed to be chat rooms and they fill your e-mail all the time with e-mail chats, all of them and not just the ones you would like to discuss. All mail goes to each member

I use google chat occasionally, but you can't do multiple people. I think Yahoo chat does more than one party though. I've given my email to a select few regulars here to email privately and I do that when I want to communicate in more depth.

This is what the email feature is for.
Sadly some are too afraid of new ideas to allow email.
Love and blessings Don
