I've come on here before asking about anorexia and I realize that I might be anorexic... But it just won't sink in. I understand I could have it and all, but I don't believe it could be true. It feels like theres nothing to worry about... I still feel really fat and I don't know what to do.

I was going to mention something to my doctor when I went because of my broken ankle, but my mother was in the room and I don't want to say anything about it unless I am 100% sure that it is a problem.

I do skip meals, and I have gone days without eating...
I am fourteen and I weigh about 100 pounds

What should I do?

Note: I don't have a strong relationship with my mother... Sorry if I confused you...

She gets angry if there is things wrong with me, because I am supposed to be "perfect" and "flawless"

The first step is admitting that you have a problem. Your statement contradicts itself, and you're almost answering your own question.

You say that you skip meals and that you have gone days without eating, when a few lines above you wrote that you feel like there's nothing to worry about. Don't you think you shoud start worrying when you weight 100 pounds at 14 years old?

You have an eating disorder, and you need to take steps to fix it. You definately should've told your doctor about your worries, even if your mother was there. That way, your doctor could've helped you, and eventually if he concluded that you had a problem, I'm sure your mother would've been the first person to help you through this.

What I get from what you are saying is that your Mom has some extremely lofty standards for what she expects of you. That is affecting you negatively. You are too young to have those kind of expectations. You need to get some help from a youth counselor. They can assist you in talking to your mother about getting you the help you need.

You can't say that "nothing is wrong" and say "I feel fat" in the same sentence. That's called denial.

Skipping meals = bad news, your body needs nutrients to function properly.

Not eating for "days at a time" = This could kill you.

Please get yourself some proper help, for you and your mother too. Learn a proper diet and you can live longer and happier without the fear of ever dealing with being "fat".

Don't let this go on, for your own good.

Hi--Anorexia, like other eating disorders, can take over your life. You may think about food all of the time, spend hours agonizing over options in the grocery store, and exercise to exhaustion. You also may have a host of physical problems that make you feel generally miserable, such as dizziness, constipation, fatigue and frequently feeling cold. You may be irritable, angry, moody, sad, anxious and hopeless. You might visit pro-anorexia Web sites, refer to the disease as your "friend," cover up in layers of heavy clothing, and try to subsist on a menu of lettuce, carrots, popcorn and diet soda.

If you're experiencing any of these problems, or if you think you may have an eating disorder, get help. Remind yourself that you're not actually in control anymore — the anorexia is. If you're hiding your anorexia from loved ones, try to find a trusted confidante you can talk to about what's going on. Together, you can come up with some treatment options.

Unfortunately, many people with anorexia don't want treatment, at least initially. Their desire to remain thin overrides concerns about their health. If you have a loved one you're worried about, urge him or her to talk to a doctor. But unless you have legal authority to do so, you can't force loved ones to get treatment.

Good Luck & Take Care!

I know exactly what you are talking about, this is happening to my best friend; her whole life has been taken over by the anorexic voice. Its a horrible time. In basically every town they have community health centres that have psychologist's you can see for free. Although I think you need to be referred to them by a gp first. The best thing would be is to talk to a psychologist, they can give you all the help you need. Best wishes. x

Why can't you just keep eating until you are full without thinking about it?

Well, you can simply talk to a counciler or doctor making suer your mom isn't there.
