What diet has worked best for you? Example, what diet has had the most positive impact on your life, that was the easiest to follow and keep on?

If you haven't found one, please tell me the ones to avoid.

Thank you for your help :)

Honestly, I've not found any that work as well as my own system. I have lost 42 pounds since August 27th by watching my calories and exercising. Ten years ago I lost 70 pounds in 5 months doing the same thing. I was diligent in exercising an hour every day. Once I lost the weight I kept it off for a couple of years using the weight watchers point system. (I gained it back when I got pregnant) Good luck to you.

A LONG time ago I read a book called "Stop The Insanity" by Susan Powter. It taught me a good formula that I have used since. It's Total Fat Grams X 9. THe number you get from the that you divided it by the # of calories. Rule of thumb for me was to eat foods that were less than 30% fo the formula.

Example:
1% Milk is as follows:
2.4grams of fat
105 calories
so it is 2.4 X 9 = 21.6
21.6 divided by 105 = 21
So that is 21% fat.

I recommened the book.
You do not have to count calories etc. etc. just make sure that the foods you eat are not that hight in fat %.

Also, weight watchers worked a while for me but I really got stressed with having to meet or not going over the points. I just found it to be too much work for my busy life.

Best of luck and I agree with all those that have said you need to change the way you eat and not see it as a diet. Exercise is also very important.

You can read the reviews of the book at Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Stop-Insanity-Susan-Powter/dp/0671522922/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1198378644&sr=1-1

Edited to say:
That the formula is a tool to us but does not mean that because you find something that is let say 30% fat or 20% fast that you can over eat. That it why the book is called Stop The Insanity, portion control.

I know it's not a diet, but exercise is the best thing. Here is why: Diet (Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers) works, but only as long as you do it. What happens as soon as you eat normal? It all comes back, it doesn't stay off. Exercise, keeps you in shape much longer, and it makes you look and feel much better. It is never healthy to cut out food groups (such as carbs or something) the only one to remove (or use sparingly) is fats and sugars. Healthy Diet (drink water, eat well balanced meals, etc.) with exercise is the best possible thing to do for your body and it will stick with you. Good luck with everything.

I not ever referred to as it a nutrition when you consider that that insinuates that upon getting accomplished your weight reduction target you'll return and devour the identical means you probably did earlier than. Call it a subculture difference. All I did was once devour fitter. Less sugar and extra culmination and greens. Also, recreation is a have to. Eating healthful is tough with the entire incorrect information in the market. I realize of a household who's on weight watchers. You devour centered on a factor procedure. So a long way in approximately a month the husband misplaced thirteen kilos. Nutrisystem is well when you consider that they ship the meals to you and its all healthful stuff. But it definite is high-priced.

I did LA Weight Loss this year (which changed to Pure Weight Loss recently) and was able to lose 70 lbs. in 8 months. It was pretty easy because it recommended grocery store food, and gave personal support. Also, allowances were made for real life situations and dieters could choose from all food groups. It also had an online support system. Unfortunately, they went out of business in our area. But I can still use all the info to keep going.

Maybe the best choice has a variety of menu options and a variety of support sources and info. Very best of luck to you if you are wanting to lose!

I don't think any "diet" I have tried has really worked.

The time I lost the most weight, in a healthy way and kept it off was when I exercised regularly, cut back alcohol, and focused on eating more healthy food and limiting junk.
Also - watching portion sizes helps, I think people tend to put too much food on thier plate and then feel they have to eat it.

The best change to eating I found to work best is Weight Watchers... it's not really a diet but a way to teach you how to eat the right amounts... you'd be suprised at which foods are really bad for a person. Portion control is key!

I used to be a big fat bastard, I even almost broke my leg once. I stood up and braced my weight on my legs and my right leg went back too far, it hurt and gave way, but I almost fell forward. If I did my leg would've bent back instead of forward, but I caught myself. I lost all the weight in 50-50 process. 50 I can tell you about, 50 I can't. But do this, eat all the chicken, steak, seafood, eggs, meat, canned oranges, strawberries, etc you want. Just don't eat pasta or breads or candies. Get hot wings, fried chicken, lobster, crabs, steak, burgers heavy on meat and not bread (not fastfood), eat all the bacon you want, until your stomach ruptures (the grease will give you a heart attack, but he amount if fat it'll give you that you can see is very little). Just keep eating meats and sweet fruit instead of candy and remember to drink lots of milk and water and the fat just slides right off.

I took these vitamins (Vibe, from Enniva), at a time when I was also able to catch up on some sleep, and I lost weight without even trying! Felt terrific right away, too. Lost 25 pounds and have kept it off for eight months. People say I look great, and I'm really enjoying wearing clothes...
