Although Czech, those 294 immigrants w/ this surname on the Ellis Island Database claimed their ethnicity as : German, Slovenian, Austrian, Hungarian, Yugoslavian, Slovakian, and there is even one Scandinavian! (Disclaimer: I didn't look at every single entry, but I think that I found the majority of them that didn't state "American".)
The upshot of it all is that you would have to work your way backward to find out where your relatives actually came from.
