I am the only person that my boyfriend can stand up to it seems. We've been together for almost 2 years. There have been girls that have tried to break us up, and instead of being assertive and telling them to back off and letting them know they're disrespectful he just avoids them. Towards his friends, he lets them call him his little ***** and stuff and walk all over him. Towards me though, he stands up for himself a lot. He has called me a ***** before; if something bothers me he tells me that I need to deal with it; he's hung up the phone on me; he's never done that to anyone but me. He says that it's my fault that he's mean to me, that I bring that out in him. Why is it he is like that towards me, but towards anyone else, he lets them walk all over him?

I feel the answer is simple.
I think your man (sounds like a boy) is displaying a lack of self-confidence. You are probably the only person he feels respects him enough to stand up to and not leave. All of this disrespect from his friends probably builds up in him and is unleashed on you. I suggest you discuss this with him. Good Luck!

There is a song by Nancy Sinatra, THIS BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING, Listen to it, then put it in a CD an give it to him, could be that both of you will get the message. Is a cheap controller, and you do let him, that is Way.

Sounds like he is taking advantage of you and you are letting him. He walks all over you because you don't stand up to him and he knows he can. Sounds like there isn't much love or respect happening in that relationship.

Sorry to tell you this, but you have a wimp for a boyfriend. He only stands up to you either b/c he feels you're weak or he just wants to push you around b/c everyone pushes him around. Get a Man with a backbone! I'm sure you deserve one! good Luck!

since he doesn't stand up for himself in between males he might want to reassure himself that he is Male by using you as the bait... never let a guy walk all over you like that you should stand up for yourself I would never do that to a girl ever!!

Maybe he feels that since he wears the "PANTS" in yall relationship, you won't tell him anything, but when it comes to other people, he's afraid. With you he feels like he's in control (what guy doesn't think like that) but you have to show him that he can't jus let people step all over him knowing that you come first.

He is a coward, but when it comes to you he feel that he can control you and tell you off, which he would love to do to others, but he doesn't know how, where he fall in the catolog of a wimp.

It sounds like he's manipulative and that you are someone he has gotten to know well enough to know it will work on you. Don't you think it's a bad thing that he acts like that, and tells you that you bring it out in him?

it sounds like your in an abusive relationship. These things could get out of hand. If you can't stand him anymore, don't try to figure him out. Break it up if you feel he demeans you.

He probably feels most comfortable and close with you so he is more confident in standing up to you because he doesn't think it will hurt his ego/pride.
