Norton Ghost question...?

I want to format one partition where I installed windows xp and reinstall it, and I want to keep intact my second partition (there are my own files). If I use norton ghost using the boot CD, is there a risk that I lose my files in the second partition?

Chances are low to nil if you know what you are doing and understand partitions, otherwise .. BACKUP before you do anything, no point crying about it when things go wrong.
