But I was wondering if you like to bake. I realize this is one of those immediate snap things I do in my head as we all do about a particular group of people. I dont imagine atheists being the baking type, but I do imagine Christians and Pagans being bigtime bakers. So, please satiate my silly curiosity and be glad I realize how stupid this preconceived notion is :-) Merry Christmas!

Yesterday I baked what my kids deemed, "Light as Clouds Drop Sugar Cookies." Today I made Peanut Blossoms, Peanut Butter Cup cookies, and Nut Horns. Two days ago it was soft molasses cookies. Everything baked before that has been consumed.

I've always loved cooking, baking, decorating, and all things domestic.

Oh, for dinner we had marinated chicken, mashed potatoes, and baked root vegetables. I make everything from scratch, including my own soups, stews, broths, biscuits, breads, waffles and pancakes. Very little comes pre-packaged or canned at my house.

I bake all the time.. My husband has a HUGE sweettooth so I bake him cakes, pies, etc.

I also love baking meals as it's easy to put them together throw them in and set the timer..

Some of my husbands favorite recipes are

Texas Sheet Cake

Peanut Butter Pie

He is also a big fan of cinnamon rolls...

Make dough in the bread machine

Roll flat before final rise

drizzle with butter
sprinkle with cinnamon and brownsugar
sprinkle with raisins (currants are also good)
roll into tube
slice into 1.5 inch pieces
let rise

bake at 375 until golden brown

Drizzle with icing

Addition: I love when the house smells of baked goods it gives it the homey smell... Something I remember well from childhood as both my mother and grandmother are southern cooks and bakers...

I'm a vegan agnostic, and I do enjoy cooking and baking. I recently made a great mock chopped liver for a potluck at work. I've kind of fallen out of much cooking and baking and must get back in the kitchen.

I bake all kinds of things and all of the time. I make homemade prezels and other breads. I make the best pecan pie (that actually sold out and helped a daycare) on the planet and You have a wonderful season.

Atheism has nothing to do withing baking. As for me I leave the cooking to those who enjoy the culinary arts. Anyone who can read a recipe can bake.

No, I'm not a baker, but I like to cook and brew beer.

Edit:
My 13 year old, and an atheist, likes to bake, and we'd both like RedQueen's recipes!!

I bake fruit pies and cakes, and the occasional loaf of bread. There are a pair of pineapple upside-down cakes in the oven right now.

I really don't think baking has to do anything with religion. I think somethign like baking is something that has to do more with like one's likes and dislikes, not on what they believe in.
Happy Holidays!

Tonight I made pork chops stuffed with artichoke and feta and finished with a balsamic vinaigrette. We had homemade key lime pie for dessert :)

For a couple of years, one day a month would be "Different Country Day" - and I would cook the cuisine of a different country (Ethiopia, Thailand, whatever) and we'd have breakfast/lunch and dinner from that country. My kids loved it.
