If you are referring to a limited license for operators under the age of 18 .... YEP, they can, and probably will suspend your license.
48 in a 35 (residential zone?) what were you thinking? During the daytime residential zones are full of children who might just pop into the road in front of you without warning. Night time, people walking on the sidewalk are harder to see, and pets or other animals are likely to pop into your path.
Take your lumps by pleading guilty and pay the fine, suspension very likely.
Hire an attorney, plead not guilty and go to trial. Pay the fine, pay the attorney, suspension still very likely. The choice is yours.
Just as it was your choice to speed in the first place. I'd hope for a bus pass under the tree this year if I were you.

Get a traffic lawyer with connections with the DA and a good attorney can pretty much promise you point reductions and no insurance points before you hire him. In Fl and NC traffic attorneys who practice law this way usually charge from 300 or up depending on the charge.

It is possible, if they double the points for limited license violations. Depends on your state, so check out their table on point limited violations. I don't know what state you are located.
