I dont know anyone currently but I had my first job at 14. With labor laws I could only work a certain amount of hours a day/week and had to have a special work permit from my school and filled out by my parents. I worked at Subway for a few months then worked at a skating rink. Legally thats the youngest age you can get a job. I was making $4.25/hr but this was over 10 years ago! That was a lot of money to a 14 year old... $300 a month! LOL

Well if you're on about really young children at around 1 can become actors/actresses! But if you're on about a normal job i would say about 12/13 a paper round! My friend is 14 and she works for avon. Babysitting could be an option but it depends on the parents of the children to how old you need to be to be trusted responsible. I would say about 15 or 16 if you're wanting a job in a shop or something.

Alex, most states have child labor laws. That means that you are not allowed to work legally before a certain age. To control it, they will usually require work permits for anyone under 18. So, if you are less than 14 or 15, it's unlikely you can work a regular job. You would be permitted to do something like baby sit, mow lawns, or help out in your family's business.

I was 10 when I started baby sitting. You can do something like that or work for family. Otherwise, you will need to be 15 or 16 and you will need a work permit. I had my first retail job when I was 16 and I needed a work permit.

My 15-month-old daughter is responsible for maintaining consistent cuteness.
It's a hard job, but she is doing well.
