I don't want to make a big meal for our holiday gift exchange, finger foods and snacks would be better. Any good ideas/recipes?

SNAPPY CHEESE STICKS

1 stick pie crust mix
1/2 c. shredded sharp natural Cheddar cheese
1/8 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. paprika

Prepare pie crust mix according to package directions. Add cheese, mustard and paprika until mixture forms a ball. Roll dough on lightly floured surface to 12 x 8 inch rectangle. With pastry wheel or knife, cut into 4 x 1/2 inch rectangles. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in hot oven (425 degree) for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 4 dozen sticks.

TORTILLA PINWHEELS

FILLING:

8 oz. dairy sour cream
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 can (4 oz.) diced green chilies, well drained
1 can (4 oz.) chopped black olives, well drained
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. chopped green onion

5 (10 inch) flour tortillas
Salsa

Mix all of the ingredients together thoroughly. Divide the filling and spread evenly over the tortillas; roll up tortillas. Cover tightly with plastic wrap, twisting ends; refrigerate for several hours.
Unwrap; cut in slices 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Discard ends. Lay pinwheels flat on glass serving plate. Leave space in center of plate for small bowl of salsa if desired.

Makes about 50 pinwheels.

Our family always had a veggie tray and a cookie tray out. Of course, buy extra olives; if your family's anything like ours, they go the fastest.

Sandwiches cut into quarters would probably be a good idea. You may want to put out a 'spreads' tray. That's big crackers with various sandwich spreads -- like ham spread, liverwurst, cheese spread or a cheese ball, easy-spread peanut butter (mix it with a little margarine to make it spreadable) and maybe some hummus -- available.

I make little caprese salad skewers on toothpicks. They are colorful and easy! I use mini mozzerellas balls, small pieces of basil, and grape tomatoes...drizzle olive oil and good sea salt over the top just before serving.
Another easy one is mini meatballs with bbq sauce in a crockpot. Sooooooooo easy and you don't have to tend to it at all.

bacon-wrapped waterchestnuts, use toothpicks to secure. Make in crockpot, the sauce is just ketchup & sugar, or bottled bbq sauce.
