Only crazy or ultra sensitive people would be offended by being wished a merry Christmas. The vast majority of this nation is Christian and celebrates Christmas. If we fear offending anyone, we will eventually do nothing, since someone is always offended by something we do. Stores are free to do business as they see fit. We are free to spend our money where and as we see fit. Let's wisely decide how we spend our money and where we spend it.

I think that all Christians should stand up and say, "ENOUGH". When I worked in retail they told us to say Happy Holidays , but I always refused and said Merry Christmas. I never heard a complaint. I read a survey once that said like 83% of people believed in God, but we let the 17% that didn't dictate what we should do. I for one am proud to be a child of God.

They are trying to be all inclusive. This is the holiday season. There's Christmas, Hannukah, Kawanza, New Years, Ramadan, Winter Solstice. A better question is why people are offeneded when someone wishes them a happy holiday? They, apparently, give the impression that it is all about them and no one else.

that's one of the effects of religions....
people thinking other people may be offended.....
get real folks, religions are primitive.....we are no longer like the ancient greeks who had numerous gods.
this is 2007!
lets cut out all that primitive thinking of something put together this vast universe with just the snap of a god's fingers.

If no-one cares, then no-one cares if they don't say it either. Militant Christians who protest "happy holidays" are only helping to ensure that in the future there will be no recognition of the holiday at all. "Thank you, have a nice day" is what will result.

you can't assume a perfect stranger celebrates the one out of five holidays that take place in December that you do, so saying Happy Holidays covers them all. Why do you have a problem with that?

They aren't.
I hear it everywhere I go.
Sounds like you are either ultra-sensitive about it, or just looking for an argument.
