The Corsair for a piston fighter, the T-28 for a piston trainer, the B-17 for a piston bomber, the A-6 for a low level jet bomber, the SR-71 for a high level recon aircraft, the Lear 45 was an incredible ride, (I can only imagine a 31a with 45 engines,) I think cancelling the Martin SeaMasters was a tragedy, the Jetstars I worked on were proof that a rock would fly if you put big enough engines on it,(they were also one of the most interesting test rides; our pilots could never make a test flight in nice weather,) the Saber 60 was a hot rod, a Stearman ride was a blast, and getting buzzed by a B-52H was an experience I'll never forget.

I've many more.

It's like classifying a sexy woman. There are so many qualities I look for, so many aesthetics I find pleasing to the eye, so many performance aspects that range from sub-to supersonic.

And if you're just handing out planes, personally I'll take a Grumman Goose while you're at it.

Ahh the Aztec. A triumph of thrust over aerodynamics. Who ever thought a J-3 Cub wing could go that fast? Someone who thought fuel was cheap.

I have different favourite airplanes for different moods. Right now I am remembering the plane I had last year, a 1978 Beech Sundowner. It won't win any races or shoot down any aircraft. But it is one of the few planes that can fly basic aerobatics (better than a Citabria) and then go and haul four people and baggage. Built like a battleship (stressed to over 150% of +6/-3 no matter what version), but also with great comfort, ergonomics, and visibility. Anyone I've known who has flown a Cherokee 180 and then flown one of these is instantly converted to the Beechcraft.

Its very hard to say, a small list of aircraft I love is
747-8i
767-400ER
777-200ER/LR
But my absolute favorite is the British Aerospace 146 (BAe 146, RJ100, or Jumbolino) it's a small RJ with four engines and it's very cool to fly in and I flew on it with Swiss European Airlines it's a very fun plane and it looks really cool.

It has to be the Avro Anson for me. I rebuilt one over a 17 year period and it now resides in a Museum in the United Arab Emirates.

I also did a lot of work on the other one which now belongs to Air Atlantique at Coventry..

Daryl... Which one of the axes does the Ercoupe not have, Roll, Pitch or Yaw? better think that bit again chum.

The BAe-146/ RJ70/ RJ85/ RJ100/ RJX family. I love the way they look with their high wing and 4 turbofans. It is very unusual for an airliner that size to have 4 engines. They are also very quiet and they can takoff from and land on shorter runways than any other airliners in their size category. Also, the 1 time I flew in one (an RJ85) it was very comfortable. I think it is sad that BAE systems cancelled the RJX program.

1980 Piper Aztec, PA23-250T.
I got time working on my Multi Engine Instructors Ticket in one and have been impressed with it ever since. Several people that have flown the Aztec have nicknamed it the AzTruck. It is one big time heavy hauler. It is only a six place twin, but it is built like a bridge.
