I find that Yahoo Answers helps me sharpen and clarify the beliefs with which I form my worldview.
I am one who has very little use for religion or spirituality that has no practical value for the life I live.
I have found that some of the perspectives presented in this forum come from those who have spent much time and thought to who they are and what they want from life.
Other perspectives seem to indicate no interest whatsoever in providing meaningful answers. I view those perspectives to be mainly attempts to keep deeper introspection at bay. But the owners of those perspectives are seeking truth, too....you can feel it.
The answers that come from truth-seeking are worth their weight in gold. And I applaud anyone who takes the time to share a part of their journey with the rest of us so that we can learn from them.
On this journey, I've come to realize that it is not just my beliefs that need to change, but what I know about the unchangeable principles of Life and how I apply them.
Why? Because 2+2 equals 4 regardless of my religion, my beliefs, the state of the world, anyone's ethics or morals, whatever scripture is expounded, however persuasive one's argument for or against, or whether climate change is occuring.
.....and because no faith, organization, person, or religion can own ANY of the principles of Life or can claim that their interpretation is the sole arbiter of the Truth revealed in the principle.
I've come to understand that the same Source Who created perfect principles of mathematics which operate undeviatingly to create ONLY 4 as the answer also created US out of perfect principles, the correct application of which enables us to accomplish anything consistent with those principles.
I've discovered that I must uncover, know, operate, and practice the correct principles within myself. When I align my actions with those principles, I have the power of principle working on my behalf.
Or else Jesus would not have been able to truthfully say "Greater things than these shall you also do." Not so just one person can do it, but so that anybody could do it, following relevant principles. And once you discover them in yourself (and they ARE waiting for you to do so) you, too, will be able to utilize these principles to accomplish the very same things. Exactly as scientists apply knowledge gleaned from ‘previously undiscovered’ ways of looking at the Universe.
You don't need faith to fly. You need to understand flying.....
Beliefs will fail, because they can be changed.
Principles of Life never fail, because they never change.
At least, that's the way I see it....

I will never leave my religion for Christianity or any other one.
I am home in my path. This site has allowed me to meet other Pagans who inspire me and make me think, as well as people from other areas that have helped me in my own path.
Hopefully, my presence here will allow some people to realize that Pagan religions do not worship the devil, eat babies, have orgies, or act like weird crazy freaks in general.

It's helped me see some of the religious "thought" that's out there, and believe me, some of the postings have really been "out there"!
Some have been helped, I'm sure, but they won't say so for fear of the trolls or other faith-haters attacking them and their responses. Go figure. In fact, it reminds me of a passage in the Gospel of John where he records that some would not believe, so later, they could not believe.
I hope you receive many more positive responses! Merry Christmas to you and all of your family.
