Yes, sometimes, as a tradition, our family puts out an extra plate at dinnertime for them. Christ also says that during Christmas mass, many souls in purgatory go to heaven than at any other time of the year.

It's not just you. For some reason, my mom has been on my mind a lot these past few days. She died in 1988, and I still miss her more than I can say.
She loved Christmas, so whenever I unpack the Christmas ornaments and see the ones that she gave me, it brings back a lot of memories. But this year, the feeling of nostalgia and missing her are particularly strong.

I actually just lost a good friend last night and she has been on my mind constantly. I've also been thinking of other love ones gone. It is very common and understandable to feel like this during this time of year. Holidays always give us time of reflection on past holidays spent with family and all the fun we shared. I hope you have a beautiful holiday season and i wish you love and happiness!!!!

You're question brought my father to mind. But otherwise no. The poor poor man. I treated him so badly as a child. If only I understood his reasons back then. If I had been married to my mother for 25 years I'd have become an alcoholic too.

At this time of year, our departed loved ones reach our thoughts more easily, as we think about how much their presence is missed, as we note a hole in the family celebrations, that once was filled with that person. As we enter Winter, the snows slow us down, we spend more time at home, and have more time to allow our thoughts to wander, without as much distraction of things like soccer practice, yard work, and other things that fill our time in the warmer seasons. May your thoughts of them be full of joy for the presence that was shared....

I had a baby that died when I was around 20. He would have been 36. It is difficult for me to imagine that I would have a child this old, as my oldest now is about 28. I have also lost 2 girls. I look forward to seeing them one day, I know that they are safe and secure with Jesus.

Yes I am. Especially my nephew Scott who was killed two years ago last October at 19. I feel and believe that those we love are always with us. More so at the holidays.
Wishing You Peace,

Yes, all my maternal/paternal family members are gone now. My brother was the last to die. Since Thanksgiving, my heart has yearned for his calls and just to hear his voice saying, " Hey, LIL Sis!"
For me, it is the time of year which invokes these emotions so deeply and causes them to feel like they are new, once again! I have to remind myself, they all loved God, was in service for God and I have to rely upon them being in the presence of God! I do!!
I ask God to touch the many hearts of those of us who are missing our loved ones. Let His love, replace that emptiness and may we all know whose Hand has touched our hearts!
