He is in a mausoleum behind the DEI shops, in an above ground "building" , his father was moved there also from his original grave in Kannapolis, I hope this answers your question.

... Google Earth shows Dale Earnhardt Sr's home being directly southeast of the DEI building. I read somewhere that behind the house is a monument for Dale Sr. I'm not sure if that is where Dale Sr is burried or not but could be.

He is in a mausoleum on the grounds of Dale Earnhardt Inc. It's in the middle of nowhere and obviously in a restructed area of the property.
