i met this guy a year ago when he was going through his divorce so I stayed away because i did not want the drama.I would see him here and there at this local bar and we would make small talk.a month ago we started dating and now are a couple.he has a 10 yr old daughter that he has everyother weekend.i met her a year ago but I have not met her since then,this weekend he wants me to hangout with him and her,should I? Is it too soon? he is a great guy,but im afraid of the x(which has had a boyfriend for the past two years)and the drama,yah know?should I stick with him though?

Yeah, stick it out! If he's such a great guy, he's worth a little drama, and with a bit of care on your part, that will cease to be a problem. And as far as the kid, you're going to have to get to know her eventually. Find out now if you two will be able to get along. Just don't try to play mommy replacement. Be open and let her lead. She'll more than likely show you what she needs from you, if anything.

If the relationship is something you plan on keeping you will have to meet her sometime anyway, so go for it! I'm sure she is the most important person in his life, you should feel very special that he wants you to meet her,that means he likes you enough that he wants to see how the two of you get along.

If you like this guy you should spend time with him and his daughter. His daughter is a very important part of his life and it sounds like he and his ex have moved on and plenty of time has passed. If the ex tries to start drama don't engage.
