My friend has been with a Muslim man for a year, and he is the nicest person I have ever met.

I would love to talk to him about his faith but I'm worried about how he will be. I was raised a Catholic but I don't practise now.

To any Muslims out there - do you think I should talk to him about his faith or is there a chance I would cause an upset?

Why would he be upset? Don't believe the media's representation of all muslims being fanged monsters who fly into religious rages all the time....that stuff is so far from the truth.

Talk to him, you'll be surprised.

David - I understand what you mean and I don't think this - I just want another persepective before I talk to him. I don't want to feel like I'm against him before I start as I'm not. I'm truly interested.

Sorry maybe I should have said - I was brought up a Catholic but I don't practice now as I find it a very secular and hypocritical faith.

Varisha - sorry I was tying to answer someone's question so I copied it into my answer - I meant to delete it.

I am not a Muslim, but the guys that run our local shop are and i have had many a conversation with them about religious beliefs and their take on certain political events and current affairs. If you are interested, I would ask him outright if you can talk to him about it, im sure he'll be fine about it! x

edit - just to add they have explained some things that my son never understood from RE lessons in school!

I feel you guys are really sick or even worst. Why do you make it a problem of religion or faith. Why doesn't your friend ask the question to HIMSELF, what alternative he has when he does not have a women available i.e. if he is on an island, or he is not married. Why the hell is he insisting on such ridiculous attitude. Tell him to ask his parents ??? what did they do ?? Come on !! you should act maturely and more importantly responsibly.

You can talk to him. I am sure he will be happy to talk to you on his faith. It is not necessary that every Muslim is thoroughly knowledgeable about Islam and can explain you very well about Islam.

I give you here few sites. In these are articles written by scholars of Islam for guidance of non-Muslims. It will be better for you to read them first you know the right questions to ask him husband of your friend.

But in my point of view there is much better things to talk about rather than religion or politics:-I

talk to him, youll probably find hes quite open and willing to talk, the media just mis-represents and labels groups of people, one person doing something wrong shouldnt stain the reputation of the rest.

If you would like to talk with him about Islam, please feel free to do so. If he is nice, as you say, then he wouldn't mind talking about it.
