I was reading Zechariah 8 this morning about the girls and boys playing in the streets and very very old people feeling safe to sit in the streets of the streets of Jerusalem.
Do you think this a historical text or a prophecy about our future life?

When God made Adam and Eve, They made them to have children, and this was before they sinned, it was a consequence of sin that made childbirth painful in this world. God made us to have children and be family. God made us this way physically,Jesus is this Way physically forever. So i would say the answer is it's a cultural understanding of what future they looked forward to, so ends up being both.
Since The Creator made us this way doesn't make sense to me that we wouldn't when sin is finally dead and life continues as it should.

The question raised is "Will we...." For clarification I must ask: "Will who?" If the saved in their glorified bodies are in heaven they are to be as angels and will not marry or be given in marriage. If there are children it follows that they will have been saved as children. The next logical question is will they remain children throughout eternity? I think not. But, since time in heaven is not as time on earth I may very well be incorrect on that point.

Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Quoting matthew about marriage isn't relevent here.
The question is whether one might have children in heaven.
It is not a question that is addressed in Zechariah.

No, not in heaven. 1 Cor. 15:50Â "However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom"
John 4:24 "God is a SPIRIT, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.”

It could be both.
It is the same God that revealed "Sahoof to Abraham, "Torah to Mosses", and Bible to Jesus Christ (May God bless the peace to the soul of all Prophets of God).
