Both. My son is 3 and he came up to me today and out of the blue said "I love you mommy" and then 20 minutes later I was about to tear my hair out because he was refusing to do things my husband and I asked him to do. Toddlers can be like Jekyll and Hyde.

LOL all babies are angels while they're asleep! It's the getting them to sleep thats the hard part. At least in my household. Then both of my gremlins are stubborn beyond belief! What can I say, daddy is medically retired naval officer and momma and aunty are both well known for being stubborn little brats while growing up! I'd be surprised if my kids weren't stubborn.
Though I admit I miss the newborn stage. My daughter has hit 6 weeks old and screams the house down from 1 am to 6 am every night! LOL lets hear it for colic!

My first one was so easy going and calm. She loved reading and being all by herself. She was an angel. (she was also an only child for 12 years). My son (who's 12 years younger than my daughter) was hell on wheels. Now he's mellowed out a lot (he's 11 now) but before he would cry and scream and just be crazy. I couldn't even put him down for a minute without him crying. It was so tough!
