They do not care what God thinks about anything.

Why not have fun while they're at it?

I am a Christian and I don't personally really celebrate at Christmas. I don't have a problem with others celebrating it. There is nothing in the Bible to suggest that Christians ought to celebrate Christmas, Easter or birthdays. Nevertheless, the Bible tells us that we are not to judge a brother in regard to 'Holy days' or festivals; if they want to remember it for the right reasons. So then, I really don't have a problem with it, if done for the right reasons.

We have a freedom in Christ.

It should be remembered that Christmas, Easter and Birthdays are not what God wants. Yes and Yes. But if a Christian wishes to spend a day of the year in honour of Christ then I do not have any difficulty with it for the reasons given above.
Now, if a Christian was bowing down to the tree and praying to the pope or some pagan God then yes I would have a serious problem with that. If they were getting drunk and coming home to beat the wife, then yes, I would have a problem with that.. But I don't have a problem with Christians honouring God honestly and having a special time with the Family.
We are obsessed with outer appearances.
OK FINALLY, if you do not celebrate it then you are honouring God... and that is good but let’s not be dogmatic on the issue.
Over the issue of festivals or what day to have the Sabbath or what food we should eat ect: let no man Judge you... IF your conscious is clear and you do it to honour God.

In many cases it is because they just want to do what they want and then blame it on Christmas. A case of "lets drink and be merry for its Christmas", they do things they wouldn't normally do.
In countries that do not celebrate Christmas, ie China, it is because they feel it is the thing to do. When I was in China, I asked the Chinese why and they said bdecause it was a western festival and they want to do what the west does.

Because it is tradition and they have fond memories of celebrating it when they were young. Sadly, many people believe in God out of convenience and do not believe they may need to change what they do. They believe a "little white lie" won't hurt because they really do not have the desire to do what God wants.

If they really knew God and knew how much He loves them, they would not want to do anything that God disapproves of. They would love Him enough to stop the pagan festivities in their lives. Sadly many people value their traditions over God.

Because people don't celebrate its origins they celebrate what it has been accepted into being now. Why is this question posed and used as some kind of "gotchya". Get over it really.
