what does this mean??

When perfect love fills your heart and soul there is no remaining space for fear, and fear is cast out. Fear is not real, only love is real. That is why fear evaporates in the presence of love. Fear is weak. Love is all powerful.

Unfortunately 'fear' is a common theme in religion. It has its place in God's laws but man(religion) beats it like a drum, and perfect love is hard to find when fear is preached so often. I wish perfect love was a more common theme.

Remember, religion is for people who are trying to keep from going to hell. Spirituality is for people who have already been there. There is nothing wrong with either one. It's a matter of what motivates you.

It basically means that in Love, if you find true love. There is no fear in it because the true love casts out all fear. There is nothing TO fear in love if you have true love.
I'll break it down.

There is no fear in love; for perfect love casteth out fear.

"Perfect love being true love," if you find it and know you have it, it casts out fear because you can feel everything. It's all real and there is nothing to fear because you know you have the person you love. And that's all you need.

"For perfect love casteth out fear", What is to fear in love if you have found true love?

Absolutely nothing.

Some may disagree with this. But this is what the quote means.
Others may add onto it or change it but it's up to you determine which one of the options you believe it means.

It means you are willing to be rejected although it will be painfulll, because you cannot MAKE someone love you and if you realize you are not compatible, you will let them go trusting that GOD will send you someone in due time that you are compatible with.
There is a right kind of love which you WANT a person to be with you for life as a mate, and know that death could take them ,or anything could happen, but your willing to commit and let them go if need be.
The other love is selfish and self centered as to where you would harm yourself and/or the other if they dont give you the emotional relationship you want.Thats not perfect love because it is selfish.

It's a Bible verse. True love!!! Agape love!!! God's love!!!
It's also the reason I no longer settle for less in life. When we know who we are in Christ Jesus, we can love others and ourselves the right way. Knowing Him is truly comforting and gives you peace, there is no room for fear!
And if you live in fear, how can you truly love? You'd be consumed with 'what if's, 'why's, and loads of worries & stress. BUT when perfect love enters the picture, your spectrum is broadened. Love conquers all.

It means what it says: perfect love brings no fear, worry or doubt. You know that the person will never betray your love, etc. Unfortunately, we fallible humans don't know how to love perfectly.

I think it means that if you are truly in love with someone, you won't be scared or fearful of the future.

When you love someone, you'll want to comfort them in times of doubt. You will not be afraid love them in return when they love you!
The perfect love is our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ! In whom loves us so much that he took our shame upon the cross on Calvary.

It means what it says. Where there is true love, there is no fear. You don't have to fear: being beaten, being cheated on, being abandoned, etc, because one who loves you won't do such to you.

Love is poignant for us because we are mortals; at any moment death may take our heart's delight from us.

If our love is perfect, we transcend this fear and simply love.
