I'm a 24 year old American, and I'm starting to think it might be a good idea to devote the next few years of my life toward obtaining a better citizenship. I'm tired of paying big bucks to be screwed by a exploitative health insurance situation. I'm tired of my taxes going to kill people in foreign countries while our schools and social services go down the drain. I don't want to spend my golden years working some crap job until I die so I can afford my medication. And that's not the life I want for my future children.
So, what's the best way to obtain a better citizenship? I'm think EU, but I've heard good things about New Zealand as well.
Any advice would be appreciated. Please, no jingoist rants in defense of America. You're free to love it. I just don't.

Actually you can have EU citizenship. You get in addition to the citizenship of the particular country within the EU that you become a citizen of. It's explained in this article.

once again (because of course, saying it once won't work) If you don't have advice, SAVE THE RANT AND MOVE ON. The P&G forum is full of people who want to debate and argue over America. I am not one of them. GO FIND THEM.

Check out immigrating to Canada..Especially if you have some sort of education or trade... Companies there do sponsor people for immigration if there is a job they can fill.

I'd strongly suggest you go to the EU or NZ and live there for a few months first before you make such a serious move. It's true that they don't have the same problems we have, but then again, they probably have their own set of problems that you haven't even thought about. So go there as a tourist for a few months (you don't need a visa for that) and see if you really have the right idea. If you do, then find a job there and get an employment visa and you can stay, and after a certain number of years apply for citizenship.

There is no such thing as EU citizenship
u need to be a citizen of a particular European nation to enjoy the benefits on EU
however, you are free to do with u like but i would personally not leave America for EU
USA is much better interms of employment oportunities, standard of living, cost of living, security
Australia/NZ are ok but i dont think u would have a career over there but i hope u make a good choice
let me clarify something here for the link u provided
anyone who holds a Passport of a nation that is falls under EU is a EU citizenship other then that there is no such thing as a EU citizenship in particular

Having lived in any ecu u . s . for 5 years, provides permanant place of abode of that u . s ... so which you have finished get entry to to all their centers different than a number of the balloting rights. So are those what you like ? on the different hand, as quickly as eastern citizenship is lost, it fairly is long previous.. and it fairly is extremely perplexing to get get entry to to japan comfortably. To stay there no longer to point get a job is extremely perplexing devoid of appearing to be a countrywide. I even have presently had dealings with a eastern individual who had a brazlian passport.. .yet each and every time they tried to hire an condominium they many times met refusal etc in case you like ever to renew (or take in) existence in japan i might might see approaches to be able to maintain eastern citizenship... yet definite, you may see the gentle loss of mobility with europe and not making use of a eu passport . That stated, in case you finally end up marrying a close-by EIU citizen, you will possibly lower back get their mobility (or a minimum of under ecu regulation bypass as their relatives member whereever they bypass.. in Europe). SO i assume.. do you anticipate to settle in Japan/to a eastern national and re-income nationality that way ? or likewise get the further flexibility of an ecu national via a present day (or destiny) ecu national ? no count if it fairly is not any longer impacting you presently. i might in all hazard no longer exchange something .. it leaves your ideas open . 2 questions as a result - what might the benefit fairly be (circulate and balloting rights) ? - do you spot any sensible destiny/connection to Japan that is lost ? (foreigners do bypass and settle in japan.. so its no longer impossible..)

Try dual citizenship. That way if for any reason your not happy with the new country you moved too, you can always come back to the States.

It's your mistake. But if you want socialized medicine by all means go on and go. By the way taxes in most of the EU are no higher than 50%.
Contact a european embassy. Enjoy

Then by all means leave, America love it or leave it. You'll find taxes are exhorbitant and it only covers the helath care that is available. The EU is over run with illegals and I hope you find it more to your liking!

The European Union is not a country, and you can therefore not be a citizen of it. Good luck finding a country without any problems.
