I have to do a saint report for confirmation class(catholic). I am doing it on Saint Francis of Assisi. I can't think of any good opening sentences for it. Any ideas?

Even though I am Southern Baptist, I admire Francis for his devotion. May I share this website with you? Look at http://www.ccel.org and you may be able to find something about him there. If I'm not mistaken, there is also a Catholic Dictionary or Encyclopedia available online, also an on-line version of the lives of the saints. As a last resort, check or google for "The Franciscans" and there may be a good biography there (again, I haven't looked there myself but when all else fails . . .)

Best of luck in your search and I do hope you find all you need.

Saint Francis will always be remembered for his affinity with animals but there was far more to the man than merely this.

Try a well know quote from him or a statement of incredulity like "How could a man do xxxxxx" where "xxxxxx" is something that he is famous for.
