Dry her off, give her water, and feed her a little something. I know you are angry at your sister, but that does not change the fact that it happened... so instead of being angry at your sister, turn your energy towards your dog. She will most likely be OK, just keep a close eye on her for signs of hypothermia.

She will be fine. Most dogs are wet in snow and corgi's have extra fur to keep the water shed off and getting close to the skin.
Your dog will notice that you are upset and you will make her nervous, so just calm down. Take a deep breath. Yes,your sister left her outside, but how do you know that your corgi didn't want to come in? How do you know your dog didn't run off when it was time to come in? Until you know all the facts, just dry your dog off, give her an opportunity to get warm ie under a blanket, heating pad, warm water, and just love on her.
I hate to say this, but some dogs actually like the snow. So don't fret; I am sure your dog is ok.

Towel dry your dog really well, then use a blow dryer on her, set on low air, low-med heat, keep it about 1 1/2 feet away from her, constantly moving back and forth, or else it will burn her. (I usually keep my hand somewhat between my dog and the air from the dryer so I can feel if it gets too warm plus, your fingers will help to fluff her hair and dry her quicker.) Then keep her inside and warm. If she doesn't have a bed, give her a blanket to curl up on and maybe let her curl up in your lap, wrapped in a dry towel or blanket, for a little while. Be careful not to let her get too overheated. I'm sure, by now, you've already given her some water. Keep an eye on her and if she shows signs of getting sick, like a cough, constant sneezing, or behaves ill, call your vet. I can understand your being upset, pets are living beings and need care as much as we do and they are solely dependent on us. But she IS your sister, so try to find it in your heart to forgive her. She probably feels badly about what has happened already. And to answer your first question, yes, dogs can get pneumonia. Their systems are a lot like ours and they can get the same illnesses and diseases that we can. Good luck and I do hope your little puppy will be alright.

I would call the emergency vet and ask what to do..not sure if it's ok to put her in a warm bath right away or if that would shock her. Ask them its free to ask and ask what else you can do and should look for.
why are you so angry? You should be focusing on your dog right now, not a cyber war, that really is only in your mind. I'd be angry too at whoever would leave any dog out in the freezing cold that long alone, without shelter..but take care of the dog first!

I can understand that you are upset at the treatment your sis gave your puppy. What understanding did you have with her prior to leaving the pup in her care. Did she know what you wanted? Was she pi**ed off at being left to care for it. What did she gain by this behavior? Think about these questions. Then make sure a competent person will be able to help you in caring for your pup if needed in the future.

if she is suffering like shaking or showing signs of pneumonia (coughing, wheezing, has a funny smell etc.) i would take him to the vet. otherwise keep a close eye on him for these signs for about 2 days. pneumonia isn't something caused by the cold though. that is hypothermia. if your dog has hypothermia(shaking non stop and is very cold feeling) rush her to the vet now. she can die. I'm sorry about Ur corgi. good luck

It's a dog. A lot of people leave the dog outside 24/7. My dog is a housedog, but there have been times that the kids let her out and forgot about her. The dog should be fine. Chill.

Pneumonia. They do not get it from the cold. Or the damp. It is caused by an illness. She could have a lowered resistance to illness from being cold and wet, but not just from the cold and wet.
Hypothermia, yes.

You should take it to the vet to make sure it is OK. They can get pneumonia and colds and numerous other problems. She may also be dehydrated so offer her some water, get her warm, and take her to get checked out.

Pneumonia is a possibility...as is frostbite. Report your sis to the cops for animal abuse. She will be more careful after that.
