relionch...If God doesn't work on the same time scale as us then why do we believe he created the earth in 6 days or the earth has been around for only 6000yrs???

Sunday is not mentioned in any version of any Bible. NONE of the days of the week are mentioned. It is only referred to as the seventh day. The day of the week is unimportant.

I think you'er confusing two different things here, but you're not far off from the Truth. Let me see if I can help you sort things out.

First ask yourself, what is the point in the Bible telling us that God created the world is six days. . .What about six days. Why six? Why wasn't it seven, or ten, or 25.
The point, the actual amount of time God used to create the universe is totally irrelevant. Therefore, don't get bogged down and distracted by this little detail.
What's far more important is that God "rested" on the seventh day. God didn't need a rest from creating the universe. God did not break a sweat creating everything, so what's the point? Why does the Bible go on to tell us that God rested on the seventh day. Isn't this Truth implied in the Bible when it claims God created the universe in six days?
The Creation Narrative, and the fact that six days of were followed by a seventh day of rest is nothing more than a precedent-setting for the Sabbath Day. That's all that's going on here.
Two lessons you should derive from the Creation Narratives in the Bible are 1) God creating everything from nothing, and the amount of time all this took place in is irrelevant. 2) The seventh day is God Himself setting the example of a day of rest as a foreshadowing of the Sabbath Day.
"The Sabbath was created for man, not man for the Sabbath." says Jesus.
The Sabbath Day is the day we need to devout to God for, among other things, PRAYER. So, obviously, God is going to be paying close attention to those who Honor the Sabbath, and those who don't.
God is always ready to answer our prayers no matter what day we pray.

So, does this mean before creation the WEEK already exists???
If not then how does God know he rested on the 7th day or Sunday?
Monday to Sunday must have already been in existence then and after. I guess God also need to keep track of the yearly earthly movements to tell time.
Conclusion is religions are pretty funny if you think about it.

The bible says he rested on the seventh day. The actual day is debated. I don't think God works on the same time scale us.. Just because he rested on the seventh day.. doesn't mean he always rests on the seventh day.. He is always there.. The word of God says He will never leave us nor forsake us, which as far as I am concerned mean he is always there to listen, and answer prayers in the best way for us. Most Christians Honor that day. It is a day of rest for us.. not for God.

Jesus does not rest from His children ever or from maintaining the universe. If He did so, we would perish. But He's got the whole world in His hands all the time. The purpose of God resting on the 7th day was for the benefit of His Church, as an example for us to rest and not go, go ,go. Put on your brakes and remember that life is a vapor, so honor God.

Someone hasn't read their old testament..
lol,, He rested on Saturday.
However, as the earth is over 4 billion years old: Back then the earth revolved at a faster rate than it does today. Presently the earth only rotates at about 3000 m per sec. So today, the sabbath lasts alot longer.

No, the Bible does not say that God rested on Sunday.
It says he rested on the SEVENTH day.
It does not give a name for that day. It could be Friday for all we know (not likely).
He instituted the Sabbath day as a day of rest, to indicate his care for his people.

I do believe God rested on the seventh day and that was on Sat. He rested from forming the earth, not sleeping. He never sleeps and is always available for us.

God rested on the 7th day. It wasn't known as Sunday at the time.
When the account says he rested, that meant only from his creative works.

The name of the day was not Sunday.
The seventh day is the day in which we are living now, which was represented by the Sabbath day of rest in the Jewish religion and is every day since Jesus became our rest.
