Okay, you join a club and everything seems to be going OK.
Then Mr. Wants To Be Boss has an idea that you don't agree with.
You get ticked and fume about it for a while.
"I've had enough, I'm leaving!"
"Anyone else feel the same as I do?"
Now you have your little following and decide you can have a better club than they have.
Your new club has new rules and ideas.
This has been going on for a long time and still happens today.

Good question...most of them are all the same faith; the ones you've listed (except for 7th Day Adventist) are considered denominations rather than religions (although some would say that Roman Catholic is not a denomination either). The denominations are different in that many of their Sunday worship services are different styles...but then again, there are lots of different styles even within a denomination. Also, their doctrinal focus (their specific beliefs) will differ--but only on the small points that aren't a matter of life and death. They all believe the same big things, such as that Jesus is God come into the world to bring us back to him and take our wrongdoing on himself to heal us. If you look on a church website, most will have a 'We Believe' section that says what they teach; many of them will be the same. On another note, though, it's too bad that the church has become so much about religion that no one seems to recognize that the church is merely the PEOPLE--the people who follow God, not the building, the structure, the doctrine, or any of these things that Christians often let divide them. For me, I'm just a Christian; I can worship God in any church that loves God more than their programs and is willing to live their faith and not just talk hypocritically.

All religions subsist on doctrine or some other teaching. None of them are Christian.
Christianity is not a system of doctrines and teachings. It is a personal relationship with a God who is very approachable.
It is living to love, obey and serve Him through time and all eternity. It gives assurance that religion cannot provide.
Many people are confused on this. Adventist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Weslyan, Baptist and others are what are called denominations of Christianity. Protestant is merely a name given to those who protested against the Catholic church led by Martin Luther who is one of the greatest reformers in Christendom.
Catholicism is not Christian. They teach that baptism brings a baby into the family of God - thereby making Christ's death and resurrection unnecessary. They teach their adherents to pray to Mary and the saints which is totally against scripture.
The only Person we are to pray to is God and in the Name of Jesus Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. They teach there is a purgatory and no such place exists. They teach transubstantiation which states that the bread and wine is the actual body and blood of Christ which would be spiritual cannibalism and contrary to scripture where Jesus commanded the sacrament of communion as a remembrance of His sacrifice on calvary and nothing else.
They believe the pope is infallible and his decisions are holy and to be obeyed. The Bible teaches that only on infallible person ever lived on earth and His name is Jesus. There is much more error than could be justified to put in here because it would take a compendium to write it all.
Again - Christianity in its purest sense is a personal and vitally alive relationship with the God who created and sustains the universe and everyone and everything in it.

when I die and I go to heaven I am going to find that it has a lot of doors. Each door has the name of a religion on it and we are supposed to enter through that door.As I opened it I saw God on the throne and Jesus at his side.then I looked to my right and then to my left and I saw all these people who were not of the same belief as I am.I turned around ,went out the door and came back in but the seneary never changed. If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and him crucified and you believe it with all your heart then you will be saved. It doesn't say you have to be a Catholic or a protestant it just says believe.
Belief in God over the past thousand or so years has been watered down to the point that if you don't like what the preacher is saying then go to another church where the preacher doesn't tell it the way it supposed to be because it hurts your feelings. The Word of God is a two edged sword and can pierce the heart of the foulest sinner.

Most Christian churches have a commonality of beliefs.
From earliest times these were defined in Apostles Creed,
later refined & elaborated in the Nicene Creed.
Basicly that comes down to the Trinity & divinity of Jesus.
Secondary issues are matters of authority & ministry.
Catholic & Orthodox churches trace apostolic succession.
Catholics, of course, recognize the Pope as Primate.
There are 3 orders of ministry: Bishops, Priests, & Deacons.
Other churches each have their own heirarchy of ministry.
Catholics & Orthodox recognize 7 different sacraments:
Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist/Communion, Reconciliation, Orders, Matrimony, Anointing/Unction.
Tertiary issues have to do with worship practices, which vary.
Lowest issues are matters of discipline, such as celibacy.

catholic and roman catholic believe the same thing. the main difference in beliefs from Christianity and Catholosism is that Catholics believe in Jesus' true presence in the Eucharist. Also, Catholics has confession and pray to Mary and the saints for intercession.

The Catholic religion is the first Christian religion. Known as the Universal Church. Look it up.
All the rest came later each with a beef against the Catholic Church.

christianity is only one religion the differances between most denominations are small it is only the catholic church who claim all others are wrong and I think that speaks for itself. to be christian means to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour to ask him into your heart and give you life to him.

nonononono NO lord no,, folks what does it mean to follow christ anyway?? what does it mean to be in unity? is it so hard today to find out why their are sooooo many denominations all claiming to love and follow christ?? tell me something how do u follow someone and walk with them if you cant agree ..,// ok
listen here n for once reason it out ,, what did the deciples do when they followed christ> was he in one city and them on the road somewhere else following some other man?? where jesus was thats where they were they worshipped with him as he directed in math 15 he showed them that theitr teachers the saducees the scribes the phairisees were following vain man made traditions and set aside GODS COMMANDMENTS.. in order to uphold their man made rules ,
when the deciples were hungry and went through open fields they took some grain and sifted it with their hands ,, the pharisees wereoutraged and angry and said to jesus listen,, why do your deciples not follow the traditions of our elders by not washing their hands before they eat?? what kind of nonsence was that geting all riled up over not washing their hands>> they were guilty of breaking the law of GOD and they were upset becuse of some tradition ,, .
if u are his child u would obey him out of a herat full of love and gratitude for his saving grace u once too were guilty of breaking his laws stealing idols having othe GODS disobediance to parents murder even if it was in your heart to do do so but u did not follow through matthew 5 points out adultery and every sin first starts with thinking about it .
jesus came to live in us through the power of the HOLY spirit , with him in you and me their is nothing we cannot do..
did jesus ever sin then?? was sin counted against him by the roman court ? no so if he lives in you and me and we yeild tohis authority will we practice any sin?
i am not copying anything today just reasoning.. IF JESUS deciples were enpowered by the HOLYSPIRIT AFTER PENTECOST did they preach and follow their own dictates then?
IN ACTS we read that john and peter were called before the jewish council and told they could not preach about jesus their reply was this should we be obediant to man other than god? they were then whipped and set free and didnt curse or get angry at their treatment they praised GOD they were found worthy to suffer as their master. again i say if u are following christ and u are his sheep u will hear his voice and actually follow his commands /
john 8, 44 said the jewish leaders said they were abrahams seed jesus said no u are of your father the devil him u follow while u reject me abraham saw my day and rejoiced .
' u cant serve two masters , u cant follow the worlds example and christs teaching u cant mix truth and error and say i follow christ for in him ,, [ JESUS ;] their was no error /. is their error in what the catholic church teaches and acts ? in hebrews we see Jesus as our high priest WE SEE HIM offering up his own blood he is the only intercessor that can forgive our sin he abolished the preisthood and made away that we all jew and gentile women or men free or slave could come freely before GODS throne and confess our sin and be forgiven ,, the r cc teaches u need a priest who is human to confess your sin to . that is saying JESUS SACRIFICE AND HIS INTERCESSORY FOR US IS NOT ENOUGH . Jesus said we are not to have any other GODS BEFORE HIM OR THE FATHER IN THE 2ND COMMANDMENT the pope is worshipped as another god on earth HE IS SAID TO BE THE VICAR OF CHRIST ,, jesus said the HOLY SPIRIT IS HIS AMBASSADOR ITS HE THAT WOULD convict the world of sin ,, .. HOW many people do the rccc admit in slaughtering in the dark ages and in the middle ages ? what about the waldenciens of france that were burned to death and some smashed on the rocks for believing in JESUS alone as savior??
what about the countless thousands of young boys that were raped by priests >? how about the countless nuns also told the catholic priest were holy and they were not sinning by letting him have their purity? i rad a report where every nun in one place had become pregnant at one time the only ones that had seen them were priests . !! some representives of truth the n they are . . if the catholic hurch is not christian in their teachings then why also do so many protestant denominations follow their doctrine then .. is this not giving them homage ? , well u better thing clearly then on what it means to follow christ mj
