I find it very frustrating when a boy is clingy. I just find it really annoying. Some girls feel the opposite way though, and if a boy ISN'T clingy, they come insecure and think that their boyfiend doesn't care about her as much as they care about him. It's confusing!

If you want to be less clingy, then just relax a bit. When she asks you to call her - then call her. But don't call her constantly just for no reason. Once in a while is fine. Don't be jealous and let her have her own friends. If you take a girl away from her friends, there will be a disaster.

Just try to be yourself and eventually you'll find someone perfect for you. :) Good luck.

there are some ups and downs of clingy guys. its a good sign that you care. maybe a little too much but it does make someone feel loved. its a bad thing because sometimes we get the impression that you dont trust us. or we feel like were being smothered and that isnt fun. my advise would be to not really care as much about where a girl is going to be all the time. make plans for certain days and just leave it at that so that the girl still has time for friends and just for herself. dont call all the time for no reason. if you have a question or its an emergency thats perfectly fine but if its just for no reason and you know shes probably busy dont call. its hard to not be clingy but just dont make yourself the only one she ever talks to or hangs out with. just make sure she has space and time to herself.

Clingy is a major turn off for me... and most girls I know.

The only thing you can do to be LESS clingy, is let the girl make some of teh first moves.. but not all of them. Don't call them and text them ALL the time... make sure it's an even exchange... and also if you are hanging out with them try not to want to be all kissy kissy huggy huggy CONSTANTLY cause it gets old..

oh and if you say "I love you" too soon it's REALLY bad... cause it's intimidating.

<3 I feel mean now... but I hope that helps lol

Being clingy to a girl is a bad thing because if they are trying to talk to a family member or a friend they wouldnt want you calling and texting and talking all the time.If you want to be less clingy you would try to stop calling as much and dont try and follow her all the time and if she doesnt call back....dont go and keep asking her questions about were she was.

It's cute that you love her so much, but being clingy can drive girls away. I would know, I've been with clingy guys, and they didn't last long.

Just give her some air. Let her have some 'girl time'... time with just her friends. Don't walk her to class every period... leave her be for a few hours. Don't call her more than twice a day... at appropriate times such as right after school or evenings.

No. This is not necessarily a bad thing. To be honest, most of the girls that you go out with are just not ready for a relationship. That's a sign, too. Most women that do not like clingy men, are most likely not ready for a relationship. I'm in a relationship, and my girlfriend loves how I'm clingy.

(I'm a guy.)

well.... being less clingy to be with more girls is kindof a paradox, so it'll involve alot of faking it.... here goes:
to be less clingy, justact smooth! instead of following the girls around and trying to spend every waking moment with them, just back off a little bit. when you're with them, dont insist on giving them hugs all the time, and dont be so sensetive. I know from experience, as most guys do, that clingy girls are something to stay away from. Mr friend broke up with his girlfriend because she kept calling him, texting him, e-mailing him, inviting him over and following him... you shouldn't do any of the above....
Oh, and hang out with your friends while they're around... dont overdo it though... and don't tell anyone that you asked this question...

[edit]
oh right, and calling for no reason? that's just wimpy and girly... which are two big turnoffs.... along with being clingy

It can be bad.
Everyone likes their own private time and space. It can be annoying if someone is constantly calling for no reason, or always wanting to be around you. Of course, talking and being around someone is good...but pay attention to how the girl is responding when you call, or when you ask her to do something. Does she sound annoyed? Pick up on her signals.
I think the best way to not be clingy is to always make sure you have your own interests, hobbies and friends. You should not lose those things when you start seeing a girl.

clingy guys are good to a point. You dont want to stock the girl or stay too close. Clingy guys make girls chlostaphobic and they have a hard time getting rid of u. Just give her space. Dont look for her every second of the day. If she wants to tak to you, she will come to you.

Yes, clingy is bad. Give the girl some space. Don't call her constantly, don't text her constantly. Don't question why she's going out with her friends and not you once in a while. And have your own friends that you go out with without her!
