My brain has always restricted me from doing risky things. I have been very risk averse in my life. I avoid sports which I may break something , i dont push myself incase i do harm to myself etc.

my inhibitors have been my controls. but all in all i lead a boring life. i have not challenged myself much. when i do and i break an inhibition i feel out of control and this makes me scared. but i also feel exhilirated too that i did something.

It sounds like you may be preventing yourself form living a fun, eventful life, not just a risk free life; you are overly controlled and concerned about the risk of harm. You could try to compromise and push your limits somewhat so that you can feel that exhilaration , and yet not be truly risking your life. It sounds like you have already taken baby steps int hat direction. Just keep breaking your inhibitions in small doses little by little and you will begin to feel more in control. Keep a journal of your accomplishments, if you want to, so you can look back and see how far you have come. It is also a good way to express your feelings about being out of control etc.. and to get to know yourself so that you will understand why it is that you have become so inhibited to begin with.
Good luck.

You remind me a lot of myself who seldom takes physical risks. But I am addicted to mental risks which keeps me from being bored. I might suggest that instead of trying bungee jumping or sky diving you challenge your mind by exploring the universe mentally. You can do this sitting in your easy chair and it is just as exciting. It also does not have to be given up when your body grows old and unable to take on the physical challenges of youth.

My vocation is science; science has many fields and covers just about everything in life. My avocation however is photography with which I can explore the unusual and intereting things of this world, record it and have it for reference. This requires, often, that I get out into the field and photograph action but don't have to take part in the action. I shoot from a distance with a telephoto lens instead of having to get up close and personal. I also take micrographs through a microscope and explore the cosmos via a telescope.

Then I study about what I and others have photographed when it is inconvenient or impossible to get out. This is where the excitement comes in because this universe we live in is breathtakingly wonderful and beautiful especially when you understand the causes, theories and laws behind all its magnificence. And there is no end to things to explore.

I learned early that when you learn something it always opens up new vistas and mysteries to challenge your mind. Every time you find one fact ten more questions arise. I have often been scared by what I have found out but more often excited by the thrill of having discovered and understood something new to me. Try it; I'm sure you will like it.

Good luck overcoming boredom. good mental health, peace and Love!
