I agree, microsoft should just make a utility that changes the order without having to go through making a batch file etc.Because my computer runs slow since the largest programs start up last---Firewall and ati drivers. If they were started FIRST everything else would run a little faster.

Supposedly they're arranged alphabetically in the registry, and if you change the first letter it will change the order, but i don't know how to get to that part of the registry

I don't know of any way to do that. I'd just be happy if Microsoft would suspend the program rotation during startup. Things would get loaded faster than numerous programs sharing time.

I do not know how to achieve what you want. However this may help Download Winpatrol. This lists all start up programmes and you can disable them if not required this will speed up start up. Winpatrol does many other things Click on Plus to check for upadates and version number.
Once loaded double click on little blue scottie dog on bottom bar to open it up. Dog barks whenever someone try to alter or put something in your computer.
