Why?

The government as given an amnesty to 500,000 illegals and told them they can bring their families in. 1000s of migrants are massed on the French coast trying to get here. The EU has removed border restrictions around 9 countries opening the door to milions more. The indigenous population has to pay for all of them. If I go on holiday to the continent I have to have a passport, how do they move around without one?? What alarms me is that most coming here are young men in their 20s, we are letting in a standing army of aliens, who knows what trouble we are storing up. The labour government has given our country away, why did we bother fighting two world wars.

yes, it should definately stop completely, asylum seekers are all bogus, for a start they are supposed to go to the nearest safe country, so unless they are French or Irish it is not the UK. The government like to hide the figures but there are still millions unemployed here who are perfectly able to work but because of our ridiculous welfare system are much better off just doing nothing, you have to get these people working.
We do not need more immigrants here, even the ones that want to work, they are not benifitting the economy, they are just taking our jobs. it was in the Sun newspaper a few days ago immigrants have taken 4 out of every 5 new jobs created by the Labour government since they came to power.
This country seems to have been run by loony's for the last 45 years, some of the things this and previous governments stand for are beyond belief.

No.UK has to honour it commitments atleast as the Head of the Commonwealth.Unless the UK people are prepared to do all type of works carried out by immigrants, the demand will continue.People should be prepared to accept lower wage rates so that migration to UK may not be economical. Is it possible to have a general wage cut in UK?

i definatly think it should stop, there are far too many immigrants in the UK. i live in scotland and there werent that much immigrats where i stay but recently there has been loads more. i think only the people who are actually going to work should be allowed to stay here instead of letting anyone move here and go on the dole!!!
when i travelled down to london on the train the only people i seen working at the stations were immigrants which made me really angry! and yes you can say im racist and all the piss if you want, just because i have an opinion doenst mean im racist ! so dont even leave a comment about me being racist cause im just not interested in what you have to say ok.
and another thing some people say immigrants are not the people who cause crime .......what a load o crap, everytime i listen to the news and someone has been stabbed, bombings ect who done it????........yes the person who done it is an immigrant.
IM NOT RACIST IM JUST STATING A FACT

Yes but can UK survive without immigration? Who is going to do all the minimum wage jobs and dirty their hands??

I think to start, we should do away with the dole system.
(Exception of course are for those who are genuinely in need of state help due to health issues.)

Without the dole system, everyone including all those lazy people who we are paying our hard earn tax money to, will get their butts off and work. Too many people are on the dole out of choice because they cannot be asked to work for minimum wages.

Infact one of my neighbour have teenagers(not migrants but locals) lived on the dole and they procreate every year. Apparently the state encourages that, so by procreating more, they get more from the dole. Mine and your hardearned money goes to them! What do you say to that?

And there is nothing wrong with them. Very healthy teenagers living on dole, smoking pots and alcohol, stringing along a few kids. I am sure they can get a job stacking shelves and sweeping the floors but they don't because of minimum wage and too hard work. Easier to procreate and ask Big Brother for the money.

So who does these jobs - the migrants?

Secondly without these handouts, would these immigrants and our wonderful lazy locals be able to queue for handouts anymore?

Thirdly if all of us wants to work, would there be jobs left to be filled by these immigrants?

immigration should never stop, humans have the right of passage wherever they are able to go on foot! or by sail. none of this packing 40 humans into a sealed container and they end up suffocating. if they can prove to me they have the proper visa passport and immigration papers and they came over under their own steam as it were i'd happily stamp the papers and usher them through. but i see my missus off at the airport to go back home to england from ireland, no sooner is she flying away theres a plane landed with 200 nigerians going through arrivals. canoe of walk your way over i'll happily let anyone in.

I think we should have a safe and reasonable policy so we can weed out undesirables/criminals and introduce a points based system like most countries where skills are required and applicants accepted and cut down the benefit system so it's not so attractive for the spongers and so the lazy indigenous population have to work instead of me getting up at 4am every day so I can work to keep some lazy loser who can't be bothered!

we have same problem here in states over flow of immigrants--yes it needs to stop and go back to the old ways-once a person meets all the requirements of that country's laws then only then be allowed to enter

No but I think we should leave the EU and put proper measures in place to allow only skilled workers to migrate here.

We can't provide a "better standard of living" to everyone who wants one, we just don't have enough jobs and homes.

No, and it never will. Unless we become a communist country like NKorea. Would we also stop Brits emigrating to USA, Canada, Australia, etc?
