157 out in the boonies of California(end of freeway)... 120 on a country road but I wouldn't recommend speeding in city or country roads. The ends of freeways late at night are the best since no one is driving. Good luck!

Back when I was young and stupid, my parents had a retired Dodge police car with a Hemi engine. A very deceptive vehicle. One night when they weren't home, I took the old car out on the interstate just to see how fast it could go. The speedometer was marked to 130 mph, but, as I found out, the needle could go beyond 130!

But the ride was scary! The old car vibrated a lot and I was afraid it would fall apart. I've never driven that fast again.

This happened on I-40W near Knoxville, Tn. around 1971.

160 MPH on I-80 in Iowa back in 1979, verified by the Iowa State Patrol. Fine was $300 and I was acquitted on the other charges. Oh, It was a 1977 Porsche 928 gray market car.

Old Guy, "I wanna go fast!"

i had a 70' fastback mustang that would point the speedometer to 6 o'clock on the speedymeter, 120 was about 4 o'clock but it had a 2:79 to 1, 9" rear end, I could outrun it on foot in 1/8 mile but top end....never did know how fast it would go

140mph in a rusted out 70 AMC Rebel 4-door with a 460 Ford engine. How I survived those days still amazes me. Two lane road in south Texas at 5 in the morning.

Speedometer only went up to 120 and I buried the needle so I don't know for sure. But it was pretty fast.

I've gone 120 in new hampshire on rt. 101, but I wouldn't recommend racing on streets it endangers your life and others. If you want to see how fast you can go save it for the track.
