Catholics do not pretend to follow scripture. They follow tradition. Protestants only pretend to follow it. In the end, scripture will judge us, and most everyone will be found wanting.

Who said Christians do not have to keep the Sabbath day holy?
The bible teaches in both old and new testaments to keep it holy.Just because a lot do not does not make them right or in some cases any better.
Narrow minded people have tried to get rid of the commandments over the ages and there has always been a backlash.

a sharp one!
The 9'th commandment says:

Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do. 15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

it is a same commandment as the commandment to have feasts, and not eat certain meats.
It's the old testament telling us what is good for us, yet the new testament is based on grace, not the law..
This is the biggest thing Jesus tried to tell us, is GRACE, not law..
No law could get us closer to God, so God 'invented' grace through Jesus christ.
If you look at christ's example you can only see grace, and forgiveness towards men who treated him horribly.
I think God wants us to see that there are rules, but they are for our own benefit!
And no person can 'go to church every 7 days' and tell it works perfect for them!
I myself go sometimes every 2 weeks, and sometimes every week.
it's just one of those topics as : you shall eat a meal 3 times a day!
(explenation: Allthough it's healthy to eat 3 meals a day, it is not necessary for every person. some get by just fine with 2, and others need 4 per day!)

Could you point to any passage in the New Testament where Gentiles were told to keep the Sabbath? The law was given to the Israelites, to be kept by the Israelites. The Sabbath was the token of the Mosaic law, the resurrection is the token of the New Covenant. If it were so important, why did Jesus continually go out of His way to break the Sabbath laws? The new covenant Church was never under the law, we are under grace, and never commanded to keep the Sabbath.
Mar 2:27 And He said to them, The sabbath came into being for man's sake, not man for the sabbath's sake.
Those who wish to keep the Sabbath fully, you can do nothing today. By simply typing out a message, it would be considered work, and you are breaking the Sabbath.
Gal 4:21 Tell me, those desiring to be under Law, do you not hear the Law?
Col 2:16 Then do not let anyone judge you in eating, or in drinking, or in part of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths,
Col 2:17 which are a shadow of coming things, but the body is of Christ.
Col 2:18 Let no one condemn you, delighting in humility and worship of the angels, pushing into things which he has not seen, being puffed up by the mind of his flesh without cause,
Col 2:19 and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body having been supplied through the joints and bands, and being joined together, will grow with the growth of God.
Col 2:20 If, then, you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why are you under its decrees, as living in the world?
Col 2:21 Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch,
Col 2:22 which things are all for corruption in the using, according to the "injunctions and teachings of men." Isa. 29:13
Col 2:23 Which things indeed appear to be a matter of having wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility, and severity in abuse of the body, but are not of any value with regards to gratification of the flesh.

Christians must keep it holy. The Sabbath is Sunday. And the day must be held holy. If some Christians do not, that is very unfortunate and thus the 4th commandment is broken. The Sabbath was changed by the Apostles in the first century after Jesus resurrected, because it is the day when Jesus actually resurrected. The day of the resurrection is the holiest day for Christians, it is the feast of Easter, the holiest of all feasts. And so the holiest day of the week became the day on Jesus rose from the dead, on a Sunday.
God bless you

Just because many do not keep the Sabbath day holy, doesn't mean that they shouldn't. The best thing to remember is to love one another as He has loved us and not to judge.

Surprise.
All ten, as well as the rest of that covenant law, ended.
Now you will no doubt try to rationalize around this fact by claiming that it would be ok to murder, steal, and rape, etc. if there were no law.
In other words, your argument would be that people with the very Spirit of God in them would be committing these acts simply because there is no law against them.
You have much to learn about the Spirit and the Spirit of the law.

We do keep the Sabbath day holy.
The Sabbath day is today, while it is called "today." This is the day in which the Lord is Lord of our lives, in which he is our Sabbath rest.
edit:
We don't pollute the Sabbath by making something that we do more important than what Jesus did for us.

I think you mean the Jews,
Jesus never said there were 10,
Mar 10:19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
Luk 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
