What I tried to ask but for space problem I couldn't do it well, is this: If your only child was about to die and the only thing that can save him/her is a blood transfusion or an organ transplant, would you really rather see your child die than letting him/her have that transplant or transfusion instead of letting him/her have the opportunity God is giving him/her to survive?

Because that is an opportunity from God to survive. I find it disturbing that someone would let someone else dye just for not having a simple (well, maybe not that simple, but it is way possible and life guaranteed) medical procedure. If God gives us life and a body that is our temple and where our spirit resides, why letting it go so simply? like.. as if life was unworthy.

It is like killing your own child. God is making possible a medical treatment for him/her in order to save his/her life and you just don't take it??

My intention is not to bash and I am asking this question with respect.

I appreciate the respectful tone of your question. I am a JW and a parent. It would break my heart to lose my son. We are not martyrs. We go out of our way to seek the best medical care possible. We do adhere to the bible as an authority figure. God tells us at Acts 15:28,29 to abstain from blood. JWs have changed the medical profession with many procedures done w/out blood. Now there are many bloodless surgeries centers around the world. Now many non JWs are electing to choose this type of surgery.

Blood from a stranger can be tainted w/hepatitis, west nile virus and other blood born diseases. I don't think parents would want their kids to suffer this way.

If there is no way our lives can be extended, we believe in the resurrection(John 5:28,29). We want to live but will sacrifice our lives in the broken down world for a better one God promises us(Matthew 16:26)

I hope this clear up many misconceptions. Thanks for asking

First of all, JW's do not rather have themselves or anyone die. That is the reason we even go to the doctor or hospital...to try to save our lives. Some of you seem to think we want to die, or refuse medical care...NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I see you and all those who put these types of questions on here do not know anything about medical procedures. We are not doctors, but we do know there are tons of other options besides blood. Get out of the 1800's!!!

Read up on bloodless surgery on the internet. Go to noblood.com, maybe you will learn something.

The reason doctors try to force blood is the $$$. That is a fact. In this age we live in, with all the medical technology out there, blood is outdated. You can also reasearch that.

I know you will not take the time and effort to research any of this, but would rather listen to the crap you hear and go with that. Oh well.

god doesn't make medical treatment. It's the doctors that do that. To answer your question, If a transplant or transfusion could save my child's life, i would agree to it in a heart beat.

You also mentioned that god is giving the child the chance to survive. If god was the all-good, all-loving being you people claim he is, a child wouldn't be put in such a situation in the first place.

This question was asked of JW's! Let's give them a fair opportunity to answer!

I know a JW whose grandson has Hemophilia and she did have to take him to the hospital once. She is very religious but for that she put her religion aside

A related question is: Is refusing such treatment tantamount to parental neglect or even child abuse?

Most of them would say yes but the hard core people within the religion would just say it was meant to be.
