Trader Joe's is a blessing if you live near one. They have tons of good foods that aren't that costly. Try finding some good recipes for healthy foods. Some of them work with budget.

Organic is not always better - like someone else said, it's a fad.
Stay away from fast food, foods heavy with chemicals and sodium like frozen meals.
Go buy a good basic cookbook like "the Joy of Cooking" and start experimenting. There's a little bit of everything from soups, stews, salads etc.
Lay off the red meat and fatty pork. Don't drink a lot of milk - even the lo fat kind. A glass or 2 a day at the most.
You will have a better time at eating right if you're not picky. Eat lots of veggies, fruits and nuts cooked or prepared in various ways like roasting, steaming etc.
Sugar is not you're friend, but a little bit isn't going to kill you. Use splenda to sweeten tea or coffee if you drink it.
Stay away from butter and fried foods especially.
If you're jogging, eat a light carb snack about a half hour before you go out. Like a peice of whole wheat toast with a smear of 'real' peanut butter. (Adams or similar). Don't eat a big meal right after jogging. Wait at least 45 minutes or an hour if you can. You will probably find you eat a little less if you wait.

Hi Sweetie,
Eating Healthy is not confusing if u have the knowledge, it's easy. I reccomend u go to r Library & ask the lady to help u find a book on Nutricien, fats, saturatated fats, carbs, & excersising as well. The more U know about what goes in r mouth the more u become educated on how to eat, what, when, etc. to make this a lifetime goal. That'll payback 1000 times. Best of Luck! & have a Very Merry Christmas! lol

as long as you cook your own food from scratch, you will tend to be healthy, since you control what goes in the meal, and you clearly sound conscientious.
its when you start buying prepared foods that the situation gets dicey. Organic and unprocessed prepared foods are rare. they also usually ommit preservatives, so they are only good for a day or so before they go bad, and are very expensive.
i recommend you just make your own lunch, and it will cut down on alot of the foods that make you feel bad.

You don't have to eat organic food to be eating healthy. It's just the newest trend/fad. You know, kinda like not eating carbs AT ALL was the trend not all that long ago. "They" were showing studies that eating carbs is a bad thing. Now, "they" are showing studies that eating carbs in moderation is a good thing. Duh... it was a good thing to begin with! Eating ANYTHING in moderation is a good thing.
I cut out all sweets and any "out to eat" foods. I don't even like how restaurant or fast food tastes.

Because knowing the truth to things (to anything) is complicated and is never simple. Nothing worth understanding is easy - unless, of course, you believe in God (!)
