If I were you I wouldn't because you don't know how long the relationship he's in right now will last. Waiting would be unhealthy for you and will make you feel bad about yourself. Everytime you see them making out with each other you will feel sad and hurt so don't do it.
I was in the exact same situation as you a couple of years ago and I did wait because I knew that he didn't really like the girl he was going out with, but then even after they broke he still didn't go out with me. (I still think he might have liked me, but just didn't want to be in relationship with me w/e I'm over it now). We were pretty good friends too and now we don't even talk, but that's because we don't go the same school anymore, but anyway don't wait for him.
Good luck and sorry for including all the personal anecdotes.

sure, go ahead. bcz espciallly if she's only his girlfriend and depending on their age (under 30), they're likely not to stay together if they're not already ingaged. pretty much that's they way it is, ppl usu. date around before settling down, so in a way you know 'that's not the only and last girl' he'll every be with or date. hate to say it, but ppl 'break up' all the time, look around you. theres guys i've thought about and then later they end up breaking up anyway. it's just that in the mean time, if you get a crush on another guy go out w/him too that way you dont feel like you 'missed out on other opportunities', but be sure to tell him, that you're 'not serious' so when this other guy becomes available, you're free to go out w/him too. the only pain comes when you start to date this new guy, how would you feel to know someone else is 'waiting for you' to break up too?

If you wait for him, you'll only make yourself feel worse. He has a girlfriend and, sorry to say, you can't make him leave her for you. I would move on and find someone else. You could be missing out on someone special.

No, you can still like him.. but considering he has a girlfriend you can keep your options open & if somebody else comes along that you wanna date then date them.

no, you shouldnt

theres no real guarantee that they will break up, so you could be waiting for a while and regret it later on
